Dan Bongino dropped one brutal truth about James Comey that left FBI agents fuming

Bongino slams James Comey’s cryptic “8647” Instagram post for sparking nationwide FBI copycat threats and diverting agents from genuine national security investigations.

Former FBI Director James Comey thought he could take cheap shots at Donald Trump without consequences.

But his reckless social media post has created a massive headache for federal law enforcement.

And Dan Bongino dropped one brutal truth about James Comey that left FBI agents fuming.

James Comey’s Instagram post sparks nationwide security nightmare

James Comey has never gotten over being fired by Donald Trump during his first presidency.

The disgraced former FBI Director has spent years taking shots at Trump on social media and in television interviews.

But Comey’s latest stunt has crossed a dangerous line that’s forcing the FBI to waste precious resources.

Comey posted a photograph on Instagram showing shells arranged to display the numbers “8647.”

The cryptic message wasn’t so cryptic to anyone paying attention to current events.

Many interpreted the post as a veiled threat against President Trump, with “86” being restaurant code for removing something from the menu and “47” referring to Trump being the 47th President.

After facing backlash, Comey deleted the post and claimed his wife found the shells on the beach and suggested he photograph them.

But the damage was already done.

FBI Director Kash Patel revealed an avalanche of copycat threats across the country in the wake of Comey’s reckless post.

“Do you know how many agents I’ve had to take offline from chasing down child sex predators, fentanyl traffickers, terrorists? Everywhere across this country, people are popping up on social media and think that a threat to the life of the president of the United States is a joke, and they can do it because he did it,” Patel told Fox News’ Bret Baier.

The FBI and Department of Homeland Security launched investigations into Comey’s post under suspicion that he was calling for violence against Trump.

Bongino labels former FBI director James Comey “a big child”

Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino laid into Comey for irresponsible behavior during Bongino’s recent appearance on Fox & Friends.

Bongino bashed Comey as “a disgrace to the badge, the FBI and the country” for his attention-seeking post.

“I’ve got to tell you, of all the things that have surprised me in the close to now three months I’ve been here is the depravity of Jim Comey,” Bongino said.

“This man is a disgrace to the badge, the FBI and the country. What he’s doing right now, one, going out and taking mean shots at Kash [by saying he] doesn’t belong. Kash was the chief of staff, Kash is a patriot. Kash has served in numerous high-level roles. Taking personal shots while you’re on the beach implying a threat towards the president and you’re blaming your wife about it.”

Bongino didn’t stop there.

He hammered Comey for forcing FBI agents to waste time investigating copycat “8647” posts instead of focusing on real threats to national security.

“We have wasted countless man hours now running out tips to our tip line about people putting ‘8647’ because of Jim Comey, because he cannot control himself and his emotions. He is a child. He is a big child,” Bongino stated.

The FBI Deputy Director’s frustration is understandable.

Agents who should be tracking down terrorists, drug traffickers, and child predators are instead being pulled off those critical cases to investigate social media posts inspired by Comey’s reckless behavior.

Comey shows no remorse for endangering Trump

Despite the chaos his post has created, James Comey remains defiant.

During a May 19 interview, Comey claimed the investigations into his post are merely a “distraction” created by the Trump administration.

He expressed no regret for posting the image that many interpreted as a threat against the President.

Comey’s lack of remorse is particularly disturbing given that Trump has already survived two assassination attempts.

During his July 13, 2024 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks grazed Trump’s ear with a bullet in a failed assassination attempt.

A second would-be assassin named Ryan Routh tried to kill Trump at his Florida golf course in September.

Given this history of actual violence against Trump, Comey’s decision to post what many viewed as a threatening message was incredibly irresponsible.

The real cost of Comey’s attention-seeking behavior

FBI Director Kash Patel made it clear that Comey’s social media stunt has real consequences for national security.

“That’s what I’m having to deal with every single day, and that’s what I’m having to pull my agents and analysts off [of], because he thought it was funny to go out there and make a political stand,” Patel explained.

Every hour FBI agents spend investigating copycat “8647” posts is an hour they’re not spending protecting Americans from genuine threats.

Drug cartels are flooding America with deadly fentanyl.

Child predators are exploiting vulnerable children online.

Terrorists are plotting attacks against American targets.

But instead of focusing on these real dangers, FBI resources are being diverted to clean up the mess created by James Comey’s juvenile social media behavior.

Dan Bongino was absolutely right when he called Comey “a big child.”

A responsible former FBI Director would understand the gravity of his words and actions.

Instead, Comey continues to act like a bitter ex-employee taking petty shots at his former boss on social media.

The American people deserve better from someone who once held such a critical position in our national security apparatus.

James Comey’s reckless Instagram post proves he cares more about settling scores than protecting the country he once swore to serve.
