Dan Bongino is undoubtedly one of Donald Trump’s largest supporters.
But that doesn’t mean he is not willing to share when he is upset with the President.
And Dan Bongino is shaking his head in disappointment after Donald Trump made this one shocking announcement.
Dan Bongino appointment hopes fall flat
In the days leading up to President Trump’s inauguration, rumors were circling around in the press that Donald Trump could potentially select popular podcaster and former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino to serve as his Director of the Secret Service.
In most cases, the selection for this post is an underwhelming, hardly covered event.
But following an election season of turmoil when blatant failures by the Secret Service nearly left Trump dead at the hands of assassins – one instance of which Trump was actually shot in the head – the decision for the agency’s head has become a top focus.
Bongino had been delivering warnings that Trump’s life was under threat just prior to his inauguration.
His concerns appeared to be heard and accepted when it was finally announced that the ceremony would be hosted indoors.
But two days later, after Trump was inaugurated, Bongino appeared disappointed and distraught on social media when he posted, “Don’t blame me. I tried.”
The mysterious post seemed to reference Trump’s decision to name Sean Curran as Trump’s Director of the Secret Service.
Curran was the head of Trump’s detail and was one of the agents who immediately responded to the shots fired at the Butler rally where Trump was shot in the head.
Many individuals pointed to Curran as being responsible for the extensive security failures that happened during this rally, including the failure to respond to the gunman flying a drone over the site hours before Trump took the stage – despite multiple reports by attendees over the suspicious individual.
But there is good news regarding Curran, however, that Trump was quick to notice.
Sean Curran backs Trump administration ethos
The Secret Service agent fully supported the Trump administration’s belief that there was a need to clean up the federal government and its agencies.
Curran made it known that he planned to reassign up to 10 senior agents in the Secret Service, send them to retirement, or outright fire them.
“On incoming Secret Service Director Sean Curran’s first day in the new role, 5-10 senior leadership officials, including former Director Ron Rowe, were warned that they would either be fired, moved, or pressed into retirement, according to three sources in the Secret Service community,” posted Real Clear Politics’ Susan Crabtree on X.
Crabtree also pointed out that a major point of error with the security during the Butler, Pennsylvania, rally was the fact that Biden’s Secret Service leadership refused to warn Trump’s security detail about the serious threats he was facing at the time.
Had they been properly informed, Curran and his fellow agents would have likely made a significantly more serious effort to focus security on accommodating these threats.
“One of the biggest complaints I’m hearing – and this is a big development – is that several top officials targeted for ousting didn’t tell Curran or ANYONE ON THE GROUND involved in security planning for the Butler rally about the threats against Trump pre-J13,” reported Crabtree.
“Those officials are: Cheatle, Rowe, and David Torres, the assistant director of Strategic Intelligence and Information, according to two sources with first-hand knowledge, according to a well-placed source in the Secret Service community,” she concluded.
