Democrats have spent three years attempting to imprison Donald Trump and some of his closest allies for simply pointing out what they say are alarming coincidences surrounding the 2020 vote.
Now a Democrat judge has put even more fuel on the fire.
Smartmatic, a company that builds and implements electronic voting systems for U.S. elections, filed a $2.7 billion lawsuit against Fox News for defamation over a handful of the network’s current and former commentators and contributors, and Fox’s 2020 election coverage.
More specifically at issue in the suit are questions raised about Smartmatic products in the aftermath of the 2020 Presidential election.
The voting machine company alleged that the opinions of Fox News’ commentators that Smartmatic was biased towards Democrats had damaged Smartmatic’s ability to raise money from investors.
But the network’s attorneys have countered that by asserting that the company has not only used its suit against Fox News to raise money from prominent left-wing investors, but also that left-wing billionaire George Soros has potentially been involved in directing and funding the legal action against the network since as early as 2018 – two full years before the election even took place.
As such, Fox News’ attorneys attempted to subpoena the elder Soros, and his son, Alex – who is now supposedly controlling his father’s multi-billion dollar fortune and financial empire – as well as their political activism group the Open Society Foundation to compel them to produce documents which show their connection to Smartmatic.
“There are allegations by Smartmatic that Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell, on the airwaves of Fox News, made defamatory remarks, largely implying that Smartmatic — a supposedly neutral and apolitical voting machine company — was rather, in fact, biased and was likely to chat in the direction of Democrats,” Fox News attorney Aaron Marks said.
But unsurprisingly for those who’ve been paying attention, Judge David Cohen ruled against Fox News’ request to compel Soros to turn over the documents.
In ruling that the potential connection to the top Democrat donor and billionaire – who is evidently in the eyes of many hellbent on forcing the entire world to bend to his left-wing demands – is a “peripheral matter” though, Judge Cohen also seemingly inadvertently admitted that there was evidence of Soros being connected to Smartmatic.
“I base [the ruling against Fox News] on the finding that the crux of Smartmatic’s claims is that Fox has asserted they were part of rigging [the election], not that Smartmatic was affiliated with George Soros, Alex Soros, or the OSF,” Cohen stated as justification for his ruling. “That’s a peripheral matter — at best, it’s a possible rationale for defamation.”
While Democrats and their media allies initially celebrated the ruling, Fox News’ attorneys pointed out that the judge admitting evidence of a Soros-Smartmatic connection exists simply adds veracity to network hosts’ commentary that Smartmatic was biased toward Democrats and that they were headed down the right trail, investigatively speaking.
“We are pleased that counsel for Soros and Smartmatic conceded during the hearing today that there are connections between Smartmatic and Soros, as confirmed by documents from Smartmatic and the public record,” Fox News wrote in a statement.
Of course, this isn’t the only lawsuit Fox News has faced from a voting machine company since the 2020 election – the network previously settled a very similar lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems for $787 million earlier this year.
But with the evidence pointing to a possible connection between Soros and Smartmatic, it raises more questions over whether these suits were all part of Democrats’ plot to not only destroy Fox News, but also to further weaponize the justice system against those who dare to vote against them.
The woke left-wing outrage mob has been after Fox News since it first went on-air in 1996, so it would come as no surprise to see more evidence emerge that proves this was nothing more than yet another coordinated left-wing attack.
And make no mistake about it, with evidence showing George Soros was likely pulling all the strings behind the scenes, Democrats are only going to double down moving forward.
