Usually a sitting president, as leader of his party, wields plenty of influence.
Back in 2018 Donald Trump campaigned for several candidates and managed to flip four Senate seats in his party’s favor.
But Democrats know Biden’s record of failure is a huge liability.
And two recent polls prove exactly how bad things really are.
Democrats are ready to bail on Biden—and they already have an awful alternative in mind.
According to a CNN poll 51 percent of Democrats and Democrat-leaning voters want a different name on the ballot in 2024.
Suffolk University handed even more bad news to Biden when their poll among Florida Democrats showed that 46% of primary voters would pick Hillary Clinton while 43% would stick with Biden.
Suffolk University Political Research Center Director David Paleologos warned that it is “a dangerous signal that there is vulnerability within the party… the economy is still Biden’s Achilles heel.”
With Biden’s tanking approval rating, Democrats are ghosting him on the campaign trail.
After he gave a speech in Georgia (which turned out to be an epic failure), candidate for governor Stacey Abrams didn’t bother to show up at his event citing “scheduling issues.”
Undoubtedly, the main issue is that she’s scheduled herself to win in November and Biden ain’t gonna help her get that done.
It was an especially desperate move since Biden was speaking on Abram’s signature issue, so called “voting rights.”
A Senate candidate John Fetterman in Pennsylvania also manufactured a “scheduling conflict” to avoid an event where Biden was touting his infrastructure bill.
But the most hilarious example of Biden-dodging Democrats comes from a state race in New Hampshire.
The Democrat running for a seat in a special election was caught erasing Biden’s logo off the t-shirt he was wearing when a picture was taken for campaign fliers.
Those who did accept Biden’s “help” will likely live to regret it.
Biden recently showed up to support a Virginia representative who said she’s “going to have a hard time getting re-elected” in November.
It’s unlikely Biden’s stumping will help her in a conservative pocket of the state.
Even the candidate herself, Abigail Spanberger, can’t stand Biden and has criticized him for his over-the-top spending in the past.
“Nobody elected him to be F.D.R.,” Spanberger said. “They elected him to be normal and stop the chaos.”
Instead, Biden’s done nothing but help the entire nation descend into chaos.
No doubt, both candidates and voters want as little to do with the failed politician as possible.
