Democrats have been on the warpath since Donald Trump returned to the White House.
They’re still furious about his border crackdown and deportation flights.
And now a top Democrat just made a jaw-dropping threat that has every Trump official looking over their shoulder.
Jamie Raskin threatens Trump officials with arrest
Congressman Jamie Raskin (D-MD) dropped a bombshell on Rachel Maddow’s MSNBC show that reveals how far Democrats might go to sabotage President Trump’s immigration enforcement.
Raskin, who helped lead both the second impeachment hoax and the January 6 Committee witch hunt against Trump, is now claiming Democrats could start arresting Trump officials based on their enforcement of immigration law.
The Democrat congressman’s outrageous comments came after the FBI arrested Milwaukee Judge Hannah Dugan on serious charges of obstruction and concealing an illegal alien.
According to the FBI, Judge Dugan deliberately created a diversion to distract ICE agents who arrived at her courthouse to arrest an illegal alien facing domestic battery charges. While the agents were occupied, she allegedly snuck the criminal illegal alien out through a secret exit in her chambers.
Rather than condemning this blatant obstruction of federal law enforcement, Raskin is defending the judge’s actions and suggesting they create a precedent for going after Trump officials.
“I regard it very much within the prism of what we’ve been dealing with over the last month, which is an intense assault on judicial independence. They have been disobeying federal court orders systematically.” Raskin stated.
Raskin cites rogue judge’s contempt proceedings
Raskin pointed to Obama-appointed Judge James Boasberg, who recently threatened criminal contempt findings against the Trump administration.
“They have incurred criminal contempt findings in the courtroom of Judge Boasberg, a conservative Republican, a judge,” Raskin claimed, despite Boasberg being appointed by Barack Obama.
What Raskin conveniently left out is that Boasberg has been one of the most activist judges fighting against Trump’s border policies. He previously issued a nationwide injunction blocking deportations of illegal alien gang members to El Salvador and even ordered planes that were already in flight to turn around.
The Trump administration correctly noted this was impossible since the flights were outside U.S. airspace, meaning Boasberg had no jurisdiction. The Supreme Court later stepped in and ruled that Boasberg never had jurisdiction to hear the case in the first place.
Yet despite this Supreme Court rebuke, Boasberg is still pursuing contempt proceedings against Trump officials.
The shocking threat against Trump officials
Raskin then made his most chilling statement, suggesting that Trump officials who deport illegal aliens could be rounded up and arrested if Democrats regain power.
“So on the logic of this arrest of Judge Dugan, all of the people in the Trump Administration who participated in defying that order by Judge Boasberg themselves could be arrested for interfering with a legal proceeding and perhaps other criminal charges like kidnapping,” Raskin declared.
This stunning threat suggests Democrats are laying the groundwork to criminally charge Trump officials for simply enforcing immigration law.
Even CNN’s legal analyst Elie Honig admitted the charges against Judge Dugan were justified and serious. Yet Raskin is spinning the arrest as political, claiming “now they’re arresting judges” as if judges should be immune when they break the law.
Democrats’ double standard on law enforcement
Raskin’s comments reveal the extreme double standard Democrats apply to the rule of law.
When a judge actively obstructs ICE agents and helps a criminal illegal alien escape custody, Democrats defend her. But when Trump officials implement the President’s lawful immigration policies, Democrats threaten to arrest them.
“They have been demanding the impeachment of judges who rule against the lawlessness of the Trump administration. There are now more than 90 preliminary injunctions and temporary restraining orders against the chaos that’s been unleashed on the country by the Trump administration,” Raskin continued.
“Now they’re arresting judges, and the first felony criminal charge brought against Judge Hannah Dugan in Wisconsin is interfering with a legal proceeding, which is essentially what they’ve been doing all along,” Raskin added.
The alarming statements from Raskin suggest that, should a Democrat like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez win the presidency in 2028, they could use Boasberg’s contempt proceeding as a pretext to arrest every Trump official involved in deporting illegal aliens.
This is the latest example of Democrats weaponizing the legal system against their political opponents while protecting those who violate immigration law.
Once again, the Democrat Party has shown they care more about protecting illegal aliens than upholding the rule of law or respecting America’s borders.
