The Supreme Court is headed into one of the most heated terms in recent history.
Critical issues like free speech on campuses to abortion rights to the Second Amendment are on the calendar.
Now Democrats are panicked over this SCOTUS Justice’s recent news.
Democrats are nervous after one Supreme Court justice dropped a bombshell on the media during a recent talk.
A new law in Texas that effectively bans abortions after six weeks by allowing private citizens to sue abortion clinics was recently allowed to go into effect by the Supreme Court.
As expected, the radical Left went into a tizzy over the ruling.
Left-wing activists in the media immediately screeched how America would somehow fall into fascism if abortionists weren’t legally allowed to kill babies.
But during a recent speech at the University of Notre Dame, Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito blasted the media’s coverage of the ruling and called out the Atlantic over the way they reported on it.
“Here is a line from a recent piece talking about our refusal to grant an injunction in the Texas abortion case . . .” Alito began, drawing a quote from the Atlantic’s coverage, “‘The conservative majority on the Supreme Court was so eager to nullify Roe v. Wade, the 1973 precedent securing the right to abortion, that it didn’t even wait for oral arguments.’”.
Alito blasted the Atlantic for completely misrepresenting what the Court did because the decision in Texas did not overturn Roe v. Wade.
“Put aside the false and inflammatory claim that we nullified Roe v. Wade,” Alito added. “We did no such thing and we said that expressly in our order.”
Alito then said that five of the justices who ruled to allow the Texas law to take effect even questioned the constitutionality of the law.
“The applicants now before us have raised serious questions regarding the constitutionality of the Texas law at issue,” Justice Alito added.
“This order is not based on any conclusion about the constitutionality of Texas’s law,” Alito concluded.
The Supreme Court’s decision in the Texas ruling was technical, not constitutional.
As the justices noted, the initial suit against the state of Texas should fail because the law does not ask government agencies to enforce it.
And you can’t file a lawsuit to stop a lawsuit.
But the media is worried because the Court recently agreed to hear arguments on Mississippi’s ban on abortion after 15 weeks.
So they’re using Texas to create a pressure campaign to bully the justices to kill Mississippi’s law.
