Donald Trump could be indicted after Joe Biden made this surprising decision

Donald Trump officially launched his 2024 Presidential campaign.

Joe Biden is determined to stop Trump by any means possible.

And Donald Trump could be indicted after Joe Biden made this surprising decision.

After Trump launched his Presidential campaign, Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Jack Smith, a former prosecutor in the Obama administration, to serve as Special Counsel and oversee the partisan investigations into the former President over documents at Mar-a-Lago and January 6.

“Based on recent developments, including the former President’s announcement that he is a candidate for President in the next election, and the sitting President’s stated intention to be a candidate as well, I have concluded that it is in the public interest to appoint a Special Counsel,” Garland said at a press conference. “Such an appointment underscores the Department’s commitment to both independence and accountability in particularly sensitive matters. It also allows prosecutors and agents to continue their work expeditiously, and to make decisions indisputably guided only by the facts and the law.”

Of course, Smith claims that he is an objective, nonpartisan prosecutor.

“I intend to conduct the assigned investigations, and any prosecutions that may result from them, independently and in the best traditions of the Department of Justice,” Smith stated. “The pace of the investigations will not pause or flag under my watch. I will exercise independent judgment and will move the investigations forward expeditiously and thoroughly to whatever outcome the facts and the law dictate.”

But this is demonstrably false.

As head of the Justice Department’s Public Integrity Unit, Smith helped Lois Lerner use the IRS to target conservatives and Tea Party organizations for political harassment.

He also tried to toss Virginia Republican Governor Bob McDonnell in prison on bribery charges, a prosecution so partisan that the Supreme Court dismissed it on an 8-0 unanimous vote.

Contrary to claims that Garland appointed Smith to keep partisan politics out of the investigation, the reality is that he tapped him to ensure politics dominated the entire process.

Smith can now drag the investigation out through the 2024 campaign cycle.

This will allow him to leak false information to the corporate-controlled press so they can publish the same type of doom and gloom Trump stories that dominated the Robert Mueller Russian collusion witch hunt.
