Pelosi and Biden could be toast
But it’s not just Republicans causing them turmoil.
And Trump had a wry grin as Pelosi and Biden got torpedoed by an insurrection in their own Party.
Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden thought it would be easy.
But Joe Biden’s tanking approval numbers drag the whole Democrat Party down.
Democrats hoped they could boost his approval ratings – and their chances of hanging on to control in Congress – by passing a $3.5 trillion spending bill drafted by socialist Bernie Sanders.
However, they need all 50 Democrat senators to support the bill in order for it to pass under budget reconciliation.
And West Virginia Democrat Senator Joe Manchin currently opposes the bill because it’s too expensive and would create an entitlement society.
Bernie Sanders thought he could convince Manchin to support the bill by publishing an op-ed in the West Virginia Gazette, which is the largest paper in Manchin’s home state, ripping him for not supporting the socialist spending bill.
“The $3.5 trillion Build Back Better bill, supported by President Biden and almost all Democrats in Congress, is an unprecedented effort to finally address the long-neglected crises facing working families and demand that the wealthiest people and largest corporations in the country start paying their fair share of taxes. In fact, this legislation would be paid for by ending loopholes and raising taxes on the 1% and large profitable corporations,” Sanders wrote.
Manchin responded by releasing a statement on social media ripping Bernie Sanders as an out-of-state bully while also pointing out that the majority of the Senate opposed the socialist spending bill because it would drive inflation even higher and do nothing to address the supply chain crisis caused by Democrat shutdowns.

Since the main issue dividing Democrats is the lack of trust between moderates and socialists, the open feud between Manchin and Sanders does not bode well for Biden’s socialist spending bill.
Sanders’ publishing an op-ed in West Virginia will only create further division between the two factions.
