On June 3, FBI agents showed up at Donald Trump’s home after a grand jury issued a subpoena for documents the former President supposedly kept after he left office.
“Two months before his Florida home was raided by the FBI, President Donald Trump secretly received a grand jury subpoena for classified documents belonging to the National Archives, and voluntarily cooperated by turning over responsive evidence, surrendering security surveillance footage and allowing federal agents and a senior Justice Department lawyer to tour his private storage locker, according to a half dozen people familiar with the incident,” Just the News reports.
Trump was fully cooperative, greeting the agents and giving them a full tour of the area they asked to see along with meeting their every request.
“Trump signaled his full cooperation, telling the agents and prosecutor “look, whatever you need, let us know,” according to two eyewitnesses,” Just The News continued. “The federal team was surprised by the President’s invitation and asked for an immediate favor: to see the 6-foot-by-10-foot storage locker where his clothes, shoes, documents and mementos from his Presidency were stored at the compound.”
But, oddly enough, after Trump turned over boxes of documents the Justice Department went completely silent.
Then suddenly in August heavily armed FBI agents conducted a stunning raid on Mar-a-Lago marking the first time in US history that a former president’s home has been stormed by the FBI.
“After mid-June, the government had no other official contacts with the President’s lawyers until they showed up unannounced on Monday and executed the search warrant, ousting the President’s lawyers and staff and spending nine hours collecting evidence,” Just The News explained. “Sources told Just the News they collected about 12 boxes of evidence.”
Donald Trump was fully cooperative with the initial document request and kept their visit confidential.
He not only cooperated with the agents the first time, but even greeted them personally.
But that over-the-top polite behavior didn’t provide Joe Biden with the political ammunition he needed.
So the administration sent 30 armed federal agents for what could be only one reason: to intimidate Donald Trump ahead of a 2024 Presidential run against Joe Biden.
We can assume these types of underhanded and aggressive attacks against Biden’s political enemies will continue to escalate as Democrats become increasingly desperate in the coming months and years.
