Donald Trump and Fox News have had a relationship over the last four year that can only be described as “it’s complicated.”
Most assumed with Trump out of the White House, the tenuous at times relationship would fizzle out.
But Donald Trump isn’t done with Fox News yet and he just called on them to make one major move.
Long-time Fox News contributor and former George W. Bush chief strategist Karl Rove recently had some not-so-nice things to say about Donald Trump’s performance at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).
Rove called Trump’s speech “hollow.”
“There was no forward-looking agenda, simply a recitation of his greatest hits. People like fresh material. Repetition is useful to a point, but it grows stale,” Rove wrote in an op-ed in The Wall Street Journal.
These comments did not sit well with the former President of the United States, and he let it be known.
Trump noted that Fox News’ ratings have been down since the election and that this time frame just so happens to coincide with Rove attacking him about voter fraud claims and not conceding the race to Biden.
In his statement, Trump questioned Rove’s loyalty to the Republican Party, calling him a “RINO” or “Republican In Name Only.”
“Karl Rove’s voice on Fox is always negative for those who know how to win,” Trump added.
Also, according to Trump, at 10:30 on Election Night, Karl Rove called him and congratulated him on his victory.
Trump told Fox News to ax Rove and his ‘whiteboard.’
“Next time Karl, save your Election night phone call and keep doing a great job for Democrats. Fox should get rid of Karl Rove and his ridiculous ‘whiteboard’ as soon as possible,” Trump added.
Trump went on to criticize Rove for masterminding the failed Republican Senate runoff campaigns in Georgia.
Establishment Republicans like Karl Rove want Trump gone so they can take over control of the GOP once again.
Trump is a nuisance to them and they need him out of the way.
But right now, GOP voters are in Trump’s corner and he knows it.
