Donald Trump has not even resumed his work as President yet, and he is already causing major changes in Washington, D.C.
His election has completely shaken the very fabric of the Swamp.
And Donald Trump just delivered this one devastating defeat to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez that left her balling her eyes out.
EPA employees line up to quit before Trump’s return to Oval Office
President Joe Biden has famously used the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a bludgeon to push his radical and unpopular policies that could not survive Congress.
The Biden EPA created a mandatory ultimatum for electric vehicles, and worked towards eliminating the use of fossil fuels in the name of radical green energy policy.
President-elect Donald Trump has repeatedly promised that he would remove these destructive regulations set in place by the EPA during the Biden administration.
Trump previously announced, as well, that he would be appointing popular Congressman Lee Zeldin (R-NY) to work in his administration as the head of the EPA to assist him in changing the premise of the agency.
“[Zeldin] will ensure fair and swift deregulatory decisions that will be enacted in a way to unleash the power of American businesses,” Trump announced during his statement on the EPA.
Trump made it clear that he intends to end the era of an EPA that serves as a weapon for the radical climate change agenda.
As a result of the announced reforms heading in the direction of the EPA, many of the agency’s 16,000 employees are lining up to quit, rather than waiting out until the next election.
Employees of the agency leaving in droves could prevent the EPA from having the ability to conduct their daily responsibilities, ultimately avoiding the enforcement of environmental regulations.
EPA employees look towards environmental activist organizations for work
According to Matthew Tejada, Vice President of the Natural Resources Defense Council, former EPA staffers are lining up in droves looking for work.
In a recent article published by POLITICO, he explained that these staffers are “calling me day and night.”
“I think that the EPA, in 12 to 24 months, is a shadow of the agency that we know,” he added.
The incoming Trump administration has already made it clear to career federal employees that he intends to hold them accountable should they try to sabotage his agenda from the inside of the Swamp.
Officials working close to Trump have already considered routes to take, including the reclassification of federal employees so that it will be easier to fire them.
Russell Vought, Trump’s pick for the White House Office of Management and Budget, has suggested cutting the budget for the EPA so the agency “can’t do all the rules against our energy industry.”
Tim Whitehouse – a former EPA attorney himself – of the Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility stated that EPA staffers are “in a state of shock” over what is coming their way.
“I think the staff at EPA are in a state of shock,” he started. “Not because there’s an effort to downsize EPA, but because there’s an effort to smash EPA and to politicize the civil service in a way we’ve never seen before.”
President of the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 704, Nicole Cantello, pointed out that there was a massive hike in the number of senior employees retiring from their posts following immediately after Trump’s sweeping Election Day victory.
According to government records, around 1 in 5 employees of the EPA are eligible to retire.
Sam Sankar, a paid official at Earthjustice, noted that his organization was witnessing a jump in the number of people asking for work.
His group is one of several environmental activism organizations looking to fight with the incoming Trump administration.
“The Trump administration, one of its stated priorities is to eliminate support for a clean energy transition and therefore we fully expect that they will be looking for ways to interfere with funding and activities by companies and groups trying to do that work, and we are preparing to help support them,” he stated.
Donald Trump has made it more than clear that he intends to transform the EPA at every level imaginable, and that he fully plans to shut down the Biden administration’s failed radical Green New Deal agenda.
