Donald Trump has certainly given plenty of strong hints over the past 17 months that he’s planning to run for President again in 2024.
But now, the American people know when Trump will ultimately reveal his plans.
And he unleashed a frenzy with the major announcement about his political future he just put on the calendar.
Virtually any time he’s in front of a camera, former President Donald Trump drops strong hints that he’s planning to make a third run for President.
According to NBC News, Trump’s closest advisors are split on when he should make his intentions known, though.
Longtime Trump advisor Jason Miller told NBC News he’s in favor of Trump making his 2024 announcement sooner rather than later.
“I’ve laid out my case on why I think he should do it,” Miller said. “I think that there being clarity about what his intentions are [is important] so he can start building that operation while it’s still fresh in people’s minds and they’re still active — a lot of that can be converted into 2024 action.”
And in that same report, NBC News revealed that two sources close to Trump have been told that the former President is planning for a possible July 4th announcement.
“Two people in Trump’s orbit told NBC News they had been asked informally to hold July 4 as a date for a possible announcement, but Miller — noting that Trump hasn’t yet decided to run — said it is ‘not true’ that the day has been reserved, even unofficially, for a launch,” NBC News reported.
While he wouldn’t confirm the July 4th date, former Trump spokesman Taylor Budowich told NBC News that there is growing public appetite for a Donald Trump comeback.
“America was strong, prosperous and greatly respected under President Trump, and that’s why he continues to have unprecedented strength through his endorsement record and the demand for his leadership has never been higher,” Budowich said.
Of course, one of the primary reasons President Trump has been reluctant to jump the gun on a 2024 campaign announcement is federal election laws, which would prohibit Trump from coordinating with or raising more for his SuperPAC if he publicly declared himself a candidate.
For most Americans, it was only a matter of time before Donald Trump announced his candidacy for President once again.
Now, it appears as though those predictions are going to come true at one point or another.
Even if it’s not as soon as July 4th.
