It’s no secret that CNN was shaping their content around the Trump administration in the last four years.
But now that we have a new President, many have been wondering what their next move will be.
And Donald Trump was grinning ear to ear when he saw what happened to CNN when he left office.
For the first time in 20 years, CNN leap frogged Fox News to be the top rated cable channel during the month of January.
That’s no surprise as Trump-hating liberals who couldn’t wait to see Trump out of office were glued to the screen with the antics of the second impeachment process and the blaming Trump for the events that took place on January 6.
However, it’s not all good news for CNN.
According to reports, the final week of January saw CNN’s ratings drop by as much as 44 percent.
In the first week of the Biden administration, the AT&T-owned news channel saw the audiences that had been flooding into primetime recently drop precipitously on Jan. 25-29 compared with the highs of previous weeks. Meanwhile, rival Fox News Channel saw its own ratings only dip slightly after weeks of registering its own sharp declines.
Another network that has been characterized as left-leaning, MSNBC, has also seen significant declines but nowhere near as steep as what has hit CNN: Variety Intelligence Platform’s analysis of the viewership data across two key metrics—the target news demographic for people ages 25-54, and the total audience watching—shows that CNN ended the final week of January with ratings dropping roughly 44% for total audience versus the prior week across all three hours of primetime.
Everyone knows that CNN has been creating its content all around reaching liberals with Trump Derangement Syndrome ever since Trump took office.
So it makes a lot of sense that as soon as Trump left the White House and Joe Biden assumed the Presidency, CNN’s ratings absolutely plummeted.
The Fake News Media outlets like CNN and MSNBC now have a real problem on their hands.
The viewer base that they’ve built in Trump-hating liberals is no longer interested in tuning in every day of the week.
