Donald Trump was stunned after hearing Geraldo Rivera considered doing one unthinkable thing to his former friend

Rivera’s reason for trying to get in the door at Mar-a-Lago might not be what many would expect.

Geraldo Rivera and Donald Trump used to be close friends.

But that relationship ended after the 2020 election.

And now Donald Trump was stunned after hearing Geraldo Rivera considered doing one unthinkable thing to his former friend.

Geraldo Rivera opens the door to “kissing the ring” after Trump’s huge victory

MSNBC Morning Joe co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski traveled to Mar-a-Lago to try and make peace with President-elect Donald Trump after calling him Hitler and a fascist.

And even Mark Zuckerberg showed up at Mar-a-Lago to try and mend fences with Trump.

Geraldo Rivera told Joe and Mika’s MSNBC colleague Ari Melber that he also wouldn’t rule out a similar trip now that Trump is the President of all Americans.

“I thought with some trepidation about the example of Morning Joe, Mr. and Mrs. going down and kissing the ring and so forth and would I do that? I haven’t yet, I don’t expect to although he is the President of all of America now, the campaign is over,” Rivera stated.

Rivera described his long-time friendship with Trump as “buddy-buddy.”

But Rivera and Trump are no longer on speaking terms after Rivera called Trump’s conduct after the 2020 election “outrageous.”

Rivera said he was heartened by the scene of Joe Biden meeting with Donald Trump and Rivera argued it was good for the nation to see political rivals come together after an election.

“I am reminded of– of the scene with Joe Biden and Donald Trump in front of the fire going on in the White House. That’s the way it used to be,” Rivera added.

Rivera then again left the door open to a meeting with Trump and joked that Melber could turn it into a running segment.

“I don’t know, I don’t know whether I will,” Rivera added. “You could have, like, a question and answer every Friday: has Geraldo congratulated Donald Trump yet? Has he gone to kiss the ring yet like Mika and Joe?”

Rivera’s misinformation about mass deportations

And, of course, Rivera said if he did meet with Trump, he would press him to drop his planned mass deportations.

“This is really going to, I think, tarnish the reputation of the nation and it should affect the conscience of every American who sees it,” Rivera claimed.

Rivera then proceeded to unleash a firehose of falsehoods about mass deportations, including the bizarre idea that Trump meant to house illegal aliens in such shoddy detention centers that anyone seeking asylum would just give up on their claim and self-deport.

“I’m not sure if he would take my advice on it, Ari, but let me be unequivocal about it. The part you have not yet gotten to it is the fact the confirmation came about the vast holding areas so to convince people that they should not appeal their cases and drag out their stay, even if they’re here, and they have a right to due process two years down the line to get them to leave now expeditiously, they’re will make the vast holding areas so unpleasant that people will be dying to get out to go home,” Rivera added.

Rivera even tried to make the outrageous comparison to the internment camps FDR housed Japanese Americans in during World War II.

“I think that’s the thinking. It is an obscenity. And everything I said before the election I say now in bold letters. This is horrifying what they have planned. Can you imagine, just think of the Japanese internment in World War II, this is going to be that at a much vaster scale,” Rivera continued.

Rivera is a longtime supporter of amnesty for illegal aliens.

It’s clear that Rivera would only meet with Donald Trump to try and get in his ear and manipulate him into backing off on his proposed mass deportations.
