Donald Trump is running for President in 2024.
The main question is if Trump will announce before or after the Midterm elections.
But he was stunned to learn that this one Republican is considering running for President against him in 2024.
During an interview with the New York Magazine, Trump told reporter Olivia Nuzzi that the only decision for him left to make is whether or not to announce his candidacy before or after November.
Nuzzi reported:
“Well, in my own mind, I’ve already made that decision, so nothing factors in anymore. In my own mind, I’ve already made that decision,” he said.
He wouldn’t disclose what he’d decided. Not at first. But then he couldn’t help himself. “I would say my big decision will be whether I go before or after,” he said. “You understand what that means?” His tone was conspiratorial. Was he referring to the midterm elections? He repeated after me: “Midterms.” Suddenly, he relaxed, as though my speaking the word had somehow set it free for discussion. “Do I go before or after? That will be my big decision,” he said.
But the field of potential GOP challengers will not be cleared when Trump announces he is running.
South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem is running for re-election this November.
Noem is expected to cruise to an easy re-election.
However, her campaign just launched a round of ads in early voting states like Iowa, South Carolina, and New Hampshire, as well as General Election swing states such as Pennsylvania and Ohio.
The Daily Caller reports:
Her campaign released a total of nine ads. Overall, the advertisement earned one quarter of its audience size from South Dakota, 11% in South Carolina, 10% in Ohio, nine percent in Pennsylvania and six percent in Iowa, according to Meta summary data. The advertisement earned the majority of its audience size from probable key swing states in the 2024 presidential election, including New Hampshire, Ohio and Iowa. One version of the ad earned 86% of its audience from New Hampshire, another earned 93% of its views from Ohio, and one garnered 87% of its views in Nevada. A separate advertisement earned 86% in Pennsylvania.
During the pandemic, Noem gained a national following by becoming the only Republican Governor to completely reject all lockdowns and mask mandates.
But Noem may not be the only Governor who is looking at a potential 2024 Presidential run regardless of Trump’s decision.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis also appears to be laying the groundwork for a White House bid in two years.
Polls show Donald Trump is still the favorite choice among the majority of GOP voters.
But he will still have to face challengers in a 2024 Republican Presidential Primary race.
