Democrats and their media allies’ claims that the lawfare they’re waging against former President Donald Trump is legitimate, and not simply politically-motivated witch hunts, continue to take hit after hit.
That’s largely because they just can’t seem to stop themselves from bragging about their true intentions in public, repeatedly exposing their witch hunt indictments for what they truly are.
And Fulton County Democrat District Attorney Fani Willis did exactly that in a recent interview with the Washington Post.
Willis, who was in Washington, D.C. for the interview as she was already attending a wealthy Democrat fundraising event — exactly the type of event a supposedly unbiased prosecutor should be avoiding in the middle of her efforts to imprison Democrats’ top political opponent — hoped to use the interview to further bolster her left-wing “brand.”
According to the Post, the Democrat District Attorney fully admitted that she is planning to drag out the RICO trial against Trump into 2025, forcing the former President to be in a courtroom rather than the campaign trail in the months leading up to the 2024 election.
“I believe in that case there will be a trial,” Willis said. “I believe the trial will take many months. And I don’t expect that we will conclude until the winter or the very early part of 2025.”
Knowing she had just said the quiet part out loud, Willis immediately attempted to backtrack, and claimed she didn’t even consider the election when considering charging Trump.
“I don’t, when making decisions about cases to bring, consider any election cycle or an election season,” Willis claimed. “That does not go into the calculus. What goes into the calculus is: This is the law. These are the facts. And the facts show you violated the law. Then charges are brought.”
It must have slipped Willis’ mind that she already exposed herself for using the election calendar to decide when a trial would hurt Trump most, as she originally proposed starting the trial on March 4, 2024, exactly one day before the Super Tuesday primaries.
Nevertheless, Willis and her fellow Democrats are desperate to keep Trump off the campaign trail in 2024, especially when they know voters’ suspicions that President Joe Biden is not physically or mentally fit for another term in office will only be confirmed if the former President is allowed to hold multiple rallies each day leading up to Election Day while the President spends yet another election cycle hiding from the public.
And as poll after poll continues to indicate that Donald Trump is beginning to build a lead on Joe Biden, they’ll simply continue to double down on their witch hunt indictments.
