Ford executive left speechless after disabled man destroyed his woke DEI lecture on an airplane

A high-ranking Ford executive tried to lecture a disabled Fox News viewer about DEI but got schooled on actual disability laws instead.

A woke corporate executive just got caught red-handed.

He tried to “educate” a disabled Fox News viewer about DEI.

And a Ford executive was left speechless after a disabled man destroyed his woke DEI lecture on an airplane.

Ford Chief Learning Officer mocks disabled passenger over Fox News

Barrett Evans, Ford Motor Company’s Chief Learning Officer, revealed his true colors on social media after he publicly bragged about confronting a disabled man for watching Fox News during a flight.

Evans took to Threads on Friday to boast about how he spotted an elderly man watching Fox News during their entire flight from San Diego. But Evans wasn’t content to just silently judge the passenger’s viewing choices.

When the plane landed, Evans noticed the man and his wife getting into airport wheelchairs. That’s when he decided to launch into a woke lecture about DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion).

“Elderly passenger on my flight from San Diego yesterday enjoyed Fox ‘News’ for the entire ride,” Evans wrote. “Deplaning and I notice he and his wife getting into their airport wheelchairs to be pushed to the next gate. My filter was malfunctioning…”

Evans then smugly commented to the disabled man: “Love to see you supporting DEI.”

The elderly man quickly shot back: “Not me!”

That should have been the end of it. But Evans couldn’t resist lecturing this disabled Fox News viewer.

“Yes – you,” Evans responded. “That wheelchair and the human pushing it are provided at no direct cost to you – rather by a subsidized cost attributed to every passenger in this airport. Provided to level the playing field – for you.”

Ford executive completely botched basic facts about disability laws

The Ford executive didn’t just come across as condescending – he was factually wrong.

Airport wheelchair services aren’t provided because of DEI initiatives. They’re mandated by the Air Carrier Access Act (ACAA), which was signed into law in 1986, decades before DEI became a corporate buzzword.

Evans doubled down on his misinformation in a follow-up post, claiming this was a perfect example of “equity in action.”

“Not all passengers need assistance. But for those who do—for whatever reason—the service ensures they can access the airport, navigate security, and board their plane safely and with dignity,” Evans wrote.

He continued: “The cost being shared ensures that the service is available to those who need it, not just those who could afford to pay extra. This is a real-world infrastructure of equity in action: acknowledging that different people have different needs and creating systems to support those differences fairly.”

What Evans failed to understand is that wheelchair accessibility is actually mandated by the Americans with Disabilities Act, passed in 1990, which requires public spaces to be accessible to disabled people.

Disability advocates fire back at the Ford executive

Disability rights advocates pointed out that Evans completely misunderstood basic disability laws.

They noted that DEI initiatives are organizational schemes that claim to promote more inclusive environments for supposedly disadvantaged employees – but they do not replace the legal obligations under the ADA.

Evans essentially tried to claim credit for DEI regarding accommodations that are actually required by federal law – laws that were passed with bipartisan support long before corporate America started pushing woke DEI programs.

The disabled man, Evans, tried to lecture, likely knew more about disability laws than the Ford executive who arrogantly tried to “educate” him.

The real irony is that Evans, who serves as Ford’s Chief Learning Officer, clearly needs to do some learning himself. Instead of criticizing an elderly disabled passenger for watching Fox News, perhaps Evans should educate himself on the actual laws protecting disabled Americans.

It’s no wonder trust in corporate America continues to plummet when executives like Barrett Evans use their positions to mock and lecture everyday Americans over their political views.
