Fox News is making some massive programming changes.
And in the process it just ditched multiple popular hosts.
Unfiltered host Dan Bongino said he’s out at Fox News due to failed contract negotiations.
Bongino, who also hosts Cancelled in the USA on Fox Nation made a classy job of announcing his departure from the corporation saying he has no ill will toward the company and that Fox News did not fire him.
“Folks, regretfully, last week was my last show on Fox News on the Fox News Channel,” Bongino explained during a recent podcast episode. “So the show ending last week was tough. And I want you to know it’s not some big conspiracy. I promise you. There’s not, there’s no acrimony. This wasn’t some, like, WWE brawl that happened. We just couldn’t come to terms on an extension. And that’s really it.”
Fox News took a similar approach in their announcement.
“We thank Dan for his contributions and wish him success in his future endeavors,” Fox News wrote in a statement thanking Bongino for his time at the network and wishing him well on his next projects.
However, that isn’t keeping conservatives from questioning why the corporation was suddenly unable to work things out with two of its most outspoken hosts over the past week.
But at least in Bongino’s case he’s insisting that he was the party that decided to walk.
“I really enjoyed myself there and you know they were good to me for ten years. I mean they allowed me to do a show called Unfiltered, did what we wanted to do over there and covered the topics we wanted to cover. And it’s a sad day. It’s a sad day,” he noted. “They did give me the opportunity to do one last show. I don’t want you to think they showed me the door, that’s on me, not on them. But I just thought it was best to kind of go this way for now. Like I said, it’s not acrimonious. I have a great team over there.”
Both Carlson and Bongino leaving after Fox News dropped $787 million to settle with Dominion Voting Systems over a defamation lawsuit has fueled rumors the events were linked.
However, at least Bongino was never named in that suit.
It is worthwhile to keep an eye on how things continue to unfold and whether the recent settlement will result in Fox News coming much closer to towing the leftists corporate-controlled media line.
