For nearly three decades Democrats and their lapdog media allies have been on a mission to destroy Fox News.
Of course that censorship effort has only expanded over time to include absolutely everyone who dares to speak out against Democrats’ preferred narrative.
But now Fox News is in hot water with conservatives after it went silent on this left-wing censorship scheme.
As of last month, it’s now been 21 years since a fledgling news startup called Fox News pulled the ultimate David vs. Goliath upset, unseating CNN as the most watched cable news channel in the nation.
Obviously, that level of popularity has only continued, as Fox News has dominated the cable news landscape ever since, providing Americans with the only major news network that isn’t completely devoted to pushing Democrats’ propaganda.
But since Fox News first took the top spot in cable news back in 2002 – and certainly since the network first went on-air in 1996 – the political landscape across America has changed.
No longer do working class voters exclusively view political debates through the prism of “Republicans good, Democrats bad,” as the GOP establishment wants Americans to believe.
Working class voters have come to realize that the real fight is the working class vs. the ruling class elitists.
And as a result of that paradigm shift – not to mention the advent of the Internet – Fox News has struggled to juggle keeping the trust of conservative viewers while appeasing their GOP establishment overlords, as many relatively new outlets have emerged to compete for a share of the anti-establishment viewership in the country.
Now, rather than simply targeting one anti-establishment outlet at the time, the left-wing outrage mob, ruling class elites, and major corporations are attempting to censor every outlet that dares to report anything other than Democrats’ talking points.
Last March, DirecTV effectively killed One American News Network (OANN) after it caved to one of the left-wing outrage mob’s pressure campaigns to remove the network for its lineup.
But dropping OANN wasn’t the left-wing outrage mob’s only demand of DirectTV at that time – they also wanted Fox News and Newsmax removed, as well.
And DirecTV is helping ensure they get those scalps.
Recently, the satellite TV provider announced that it would also be removing Newsmax from its lineup, as well.
According to a statement from DirecTV, while the company claimed it wanted to keep Newsmax, the outlet apparently demanded such outrageous fee increases that the provider was forced to drop the conservative-leaning network.
Of course, the idea that any network, much less one that relies so heavily on fees from providers like DirecTV, would be so outrageous in their demands and so unwavering in negotiations that they torpedoed one of their primary sources of revenue, simply strains credulity.
Thankfully, some Congressional Republicans were able to catch onto the fact, leading House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) to announce that the Committee will bring DirecTV – and likely parent company AT&T – in for hearings on its censorship of anti-establishment news outlets.
“Yes,” Comer told Newsmax. “There’s gonna be a committee that’s gonna hold hearings.”
“That’s certainly on the agenda,” he added. “I’m very concerned by this. I told the CEO of Newsmax on the phone last week that in my rural Kentucky district I think Newsmax has some of the highest ratings of any TV channel, including the major networks, so this is very concerning to me.”
The Kentucky Congressman also rightly expressed his concerns about the growing trend of censorship of anti-establishment news outlets amongst major corporations.
“I’m very concerned that there’s a pattern among a lot of the leaders in the media to censor conservatives,” Comer explained. “So, we’re going to try to get to the bottom of this. I know I’ve been–had several people from AT&T reach out to me. We’re gonna have a meeting with them and hopefully we can get this resolved. But I don’t like this. This is having a negative impact on my Congressional district and I’m gonna do everything I can to see that it gets resolved as soon as possible.”
Additionally, in an interview with Newsmax’ Eric Bolling, Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ) confirmed that he is also committed to ensuring the censorship is investigated.
But Bolling also pointed out that while Fox News has remained silent on the censorship issue, smaller outlets, like OANN and Newsmax, are standing up for one another because it’s an issue that’s much bigger than any one outlet’s bottom line.
“We stood up for OANN,” Bolling stated. “When OANN got de-platformed, we stood up for them. So it’s not about that. It’s not about just us.”
“By the way, where are you, Fox?” he added. “How about you, Fox? How about you stand up for us! We did it for OANN.”
Needless to say, if Fox News keeps this up, they’re going to learn – just as CNN did – that they’re not immune from viewers changing the channel.
