There’s no denying longtime Fox News commentator Juan Williams is an avoid leftist.
The network has always employed a handful of leftist commentators who make outlandish claims to maintain their “fair and balanced” motto.
But this time Williams went too far crossed a red line by repeating this outright lie on air.
Juan Williams has been with Fox News since 1997.
Viewers know he’s a dyed-in-the-wool leftist.
But recently, like many on the Left, Williams have become more vocal and angry in his appearances on Fox’s popular show The Five.
In a recent broadcast, Williams tried downplaying the riots and full scale violence being carried out nightly in cities across America by Antifa and Black Lives Matter radicals.
That’s when Williams crossed the line and stunned his co-hosts by claiming the Portland riot violence footage simply “keeps being repeated from the first night way back.”
After citing a recent Gallup poll that showed “81% of black Americans want police to maintain or increase a presence in their communities,” the show’s co-host Pete Hegseth asked Williams whether he agreed with the police chief that the BLM movement has been “hijacked” by violence.
“No, gosh, I think it’s still like 60% plus of Americans support the Black Lives Matter movement,” Williams responded.
“The violence?” Hegseth asked.
“I couldn’t disagree more with the [Portland] police chief,” Williams said. “They don’t support defund the police. That’s Republicans, Democrats, black, white, Asian, Latino. That’s not something that people support. What they really are focused on is police reform.”
“In terms of, you know, the violence that you see in these pictures that keeps being repeated from the first night way back,” Williams continued.
Clearly agitated, co-host Lawrence Jones interrupted Williams and said, “That’s what’s happening there right now.”
Hegseth piled on, “Juan, that video is not from the first day. That video we’re showing is from last night. It’s ongoing day after day.”
“Oh, please,” said Williams.
“Oh please? This is our own video from our own show out of Portland. On this program, lighting fires and assaulting police,” said Hegseth.
Williams derisively ended the segment by continuing to insist that such violence as shown in the Fox News video “is not typical of the protests, which have been largely peaceful.”
“Largely peaceful.”
Tell that to the business owners who have had windows broken and stores looted after already struggling to make ends meet due to the government-imposed coronavirus lockdowns.
Tell that to retired police captain David Dorn who was fatally show during a riot in St. Louis.
Tell that to the families of more than 32 police officers who were slain in the line of duty during George Floyd riots as of July 14 according to FBI statistics.
But don’t think that Juan Williams is alone in his claims of “largely peaceful” riots.
Almost all the media has joined with Nancy Pelosi, Jerry Nadler, Chuck Schumer, and other leading Democrats to continue to try and spread the myth that these continued riots are “largely peaceful.”
It’s disgraceful.
