The political class is already turning its attention to the 2028 Presidential Election.
A surprising development has already taken place that’s sending shockwaves through DC.
And Frank Luntz stunned Washington insiders with this shocking 2028 prediction that left Democrats speechless.
Republican pollster declares surprising new Democrat frontrunner after Senate marathon
The Democrat Party is roiling with anger at its own leadership as President Trump continues to rack up wins.
Leftists are calling to dump Chuck Schumer as Senate Minority Leader after he surrendered to President Trump on a spending freeze bill that handed Republicans a massive victory.
The Democrat Party is currently a rudderless ship with no message or leader as they struggle to find direction in the post-Biden era.
But longtime Republican pollster Frank Luntz believes all of that changed when New Jersey Senator Cory Booker set the all-time record for longest speech in Senate history, holding the floor for more than 25 hours straight.
Despite the fact that no one can remember a single thing Booker said during his marathon performance, Luntz made the bold claim that this speech fundamentally altered the political landscape.
“They’re going crazy right now,” Luntz told NewsNation host Leland Vittert about the Democrat Party base. “And they’re going crazy because they don’t see leadership in their own party. And I want to emphasize what Cory Booker did over the last 24 hours may have changed the course of political history.”
Luntz went so far as to predict this speech would catapult Booker to leading the Democrat Party in 2028, despite Booker’s previous failed presidential campaign.
“And just as you sometimes make projections or predictions, I’m going to do one right here. That speech puts Cory Booker as one of the leaders for the Democratic Party in 2028, and I’ll go even further. If you ask Democratic senators right now, would they rather have led them over the next three years, they would choose Cory Booker over Chuck Schumer,” Luntz added.
It’s worth remembering that Booker ran for President in 2020 and dropped out before the Iowa caucuses after gaining zero traction with Democrat primary voters.
His campaign was so lackluster that most Americans probably forgot he was even running.
But Luntz claimed the political calculus has completely changed since Booker’s previous attempt at the White House.
“Not only is it a different Cory Booker, it’s a different United States of America. It’s a different Democratic Party. You’re not the same as you were back then,” Luntz continued. “And I was very critical of that moment, because it came across as inauthentic, as why I’m so amazed about what I just saw. And I tuned in all throughout the day, which makes me weird. I admit it.”
Luntz saved particular criticism for Chuck Schumer, claiming the Senate Minority Leader’s brief appearance during Booker’s marathon speech demonstrated exactly why Democrats have lost faith in his leadership.
“And frankly, I don’t think Chuck Schumer could ever do this. And I listened to him interrupt Booker to tell him he set the all-time record. I’m thinking only Chuck Schumer would interrupt this meaningful historic moment to get his soundbite included in that debate,” Luntz stated.
Schumer’s interruption perfectly captured why his approval rating among Democrats has cratered – he’s more concerned with getting his face on camera than actually fighting for progressive policies.
Luntz doubled down on his prediction that Booker will be a major player in 2028, stating: “Booker raised some eyebrows tonight, and I’m telling you, he’s going to be a Democratic leader going forward, and people are going to be talking about him for 2028.”
Republicans would be thrilled at this development since Booker represents the exact kind of coastal elite Democrat who struggles to connect with working-class voters in key swing states.
Remember when Booker had his infamous “I am Spartacus” moment during the Brett Kavanaugh hearings? That theatrical performance was widely mocked and perfectly illustrated why Booker has struggled to be taken seriously on the national stage.
Even more telling was Booker’s inability to break through in the 2020 primary against a historically weak field that included Kamala Harris, whose own campaign collapsed before a single vote was cast.
When Booker can’t even outperform candidates like Pete Buttigieg or Amy Klobuchar, it raises serious questions about his viability as a presidential contender.
The Democrats’ leadership vacuum is so severe that a 25-hour speech that accomplished nothing legislatively is being hailed as a game-changing political moment.
This speaks volumes about how desperate Democrats are for someone – anyone – to stand up and challenge the Republican agenda with more than token resistance.
If Cory Booker truly represents the future of the Democrat Party in 2028, Republicans might be looking at an extended stay in the White House beyond President Trump’s second term.
