Radical California Governor Gavin Newsom has turned California into a socialist nightmare.

But he’s not done yet, and nothing is safe from his reign of error.

Now Gavin Newsom has decided to pick one foul fight with Chick-fil-A that has chicken lovers squawking in anger.

Gavin Newsom’s war on fast food is destroying businesses and jobs

Last year, Democrat California Governor Gavin Newsom signed into law a bill that raised the minimum wage for fast food workers to $20 an hour.

That move gave fast food workers a wage higher than the state minimum wage of $16 an hour.

And ever since the law went into effect on April 1, major fast food chains like McDonald’s, Chipotle, and Chick-fil-A were forced to raise their prices in response to higher labor costs.

And many fast food restaurants were even forced to close their doors.

It’s only been a few months since the law went into effect, but one group said that it’s already decimating the fast food industry in California.

The California Business and Industrial Alliance (CABIA) said that the $20 an-hour minimum wage for fast food workers has eliminated more than 10,000 jobs in the state.

And to spotlight the damage the law has done; CABIA ran ads in the California edition of USA Today that included mock obituaries of major fast food chains.

The ads show changes like layoffs and price hikes that chains like El Pollo Loco, Subway, and Burger King have made since the law went into effect.

Gavin Newsom drives more business out of California

Newsom claimed the law was about fair wages and better working conditions for fast food workers when he signed the bill last year.

But he was caught in a scandal when his office requested a carveout be placed in the law for restaurants that had a bakery on a site and sold bread as an individual menu item.

It was later revealed that a major donor to Newsom’s campaign was the largest franchisee of Panera Bread in California.

CABIA President and Founder Tom Manzo told Fox Business that the law was pushing the fast food industry to the brink of destruction.

“California businesses have been under total attack and total assault for years,” Manzo said. “It’s just another law that puts businesses in further jeopardy.”

Manzo said that Newsom and California’s politicians were living in “fantasyland” if they thought hiking the minimum wage would help workers or businesses.

“You can only raise prices so much,” Manzo explained. “And you’re seeing it. People are not going to pay $20 for a Big Mac. It’s not going to happen.”

The rising price of fast food has allowed casual dining chains like Chili’s and Applebee’s to make a play for fast food customers with new promotions.

Fast food restaurants have responded to the law by cutting hours, cutting staff, and investing in automation like self-serve ordering kiosks.

Supporters of the minimum wage increase – Newsom’s allies in Big Labor who are looking to unionize fast food restaurants – said that it will help fast food workers make ends meet.

Manzo countered by saying that most work in the fast food industry is for younger workers starting out in life.

“It’s a starter industry,” Manzo said. “You get a job as a kid working in a fast food restaurant and you learn some good work ethic and that takes you into life.”

The $20 minimum wage has hurt these young workers the most.

But Gavin Newsom doesn’t care about the havoc he’s caused and continues to take a wrecking ball to California’s economy with his failed socialist agenda.
