But that is exactly what Gavin Newsom has been doing.
Newsom is running an ad in Florida and Washington, D.C. attacking DeSantis’ 6-week abortion ban in Florida.
National Democrats seem to think that the abortion issue will help them win elections next year, and Newsom is following tactics we have seen used in other races.
The ad is set to drop just in time for the debate between Gavin Newsom and Ron DeSantis.
Newsom seems to be positioning himself to replace Joe Biden as the party’s nominee.
Democrats are starting to lose confidence in Joe Biden’s ability to win reelection and serve out another term.
Polls have shown more than half of Democrats want someone other than Biden.
Of course, if Biden were to drop out now, there would likely be a contentious primary that would weaken the eventual Democrat nominee.
But if Biden were to wait until after the convention to drop out, it would allow DNC insiders to appoint a hand-picked candidate without having the voters even weigh in.
The DNC has a history of rigging their rules to achieve their desired outcome.
In 2016, the Democrat establishment pulled out all the stops to prevent admitted socialist Bernie Sanders from taking the nomination from Hilary Clinton.
Earlier this year, the DNC canceled all primary debates, despite the fact that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was polling at nearly 20 percent.
Biden’s approval numbers are as bad as they can be, and Vice President Harris’ are even worse.
If it becomes apparent to the Democrat establishment that Joe Biden can’t win reelection, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them pull this type of switch.
And Newsom has done everything possible to position himself as their guy if they do.
