There’s a war raging right now between the old guard establishment and Donald Trump and his supporters for the heart and soul of the Republican Party.
Former President George Bush is one of the leaders of the Never Trump movement.
And George Bush showed his true disdain for conservatives by using these three words to describe the Republican Party of Donald Trump.
George W. Bush just published a new book, Out of Many, One: Portraits of America’s Immigrants, which is essentially nothing but pro-open borders, pro-amnesty propaganda.
As part of his national media tour to promote the book, George Bush recently went on NBC’s Today Show where he attacked the modern Republican Party that came about as a result of his disastrous Presidency.
“I would describe it as isolationist, protectionist, and to a certain extent nativist,” Bush said about the modern Republican Party.
Of course, Bush’s Presidency was defined by several failed pushes for amnesty, open borders, Medicaid expansion, shredding the 4th Amendment with the Patriot Act, deficit spending, and endless wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
In 2016, Donald Trump campaigned on an “America First” platform, which meant doing the exact opposite of what George W. Bush did during his Presidency, like confronting China, ending endless war, and renegotiating trade deals that serve the interest of the American people and not the global elites.
However, Bush ripped Donald Trump’s version of the Republican Party, saying “it’s not exactly my vision…But I’m just an old guy they put out to pasture.”
George Bush’s comments only highlight the war that’s raging between America First conservatives and the old guard establishment that will be decided in the 2022 midterm elections.
And the modern Democrat Party certainly hopes the old guard Never-Trumpers win.
Because as everyone saw in 2008 and 2012 when John McCain and Mitt Romney ran for the Republicans in the general election, American conservatives don’t get excited about RINOs in office.
If anything, McCain and Romney were the easiest opposition Barack Obama could’ve faced in his two elections.
