One does not need to be a political expert to know how valuable Texas is to the GOP.
With the state’s 40 electoral votes, Texas has been critical to the GOP’s successes at the national level.
No Republican can win a Presidential election without winning Texas.
Texas has been a higher focus state on Election Day. Americans have witnessed notably stronger challenges from Democrats for Texas’ U.S. Senate seats in recent years.
Six years ago, Senator Ted Cruz barely defeated a national favorite of the Democrats, former Congressman Beto O’Rourke, by just 2.5 points.
That result was far too close for comfort for the incumbent Senator and former candidate for President.
This year, Democrats have tapped former NFL linebacker, Congressman Colin Allred to face Senator Cruz.
Democrats have been capitalizing on the mass migration of liberal voters from states like California and New York because of the much lower taxes in Texas.
These liberal voters flee their tax heavy radical states, they flood the suburbs of low tax states like Texas, then they vote to turn that state into the very same hellscape that they had just fled.
Congressman Allred has already raised a whopping $4.8 million in the last quarter of 2023.
With the balance of the Senate sitting at a tie, this race will definitely be one that everyone will watch closely. Including President Joe Biden who only lost the state by 6 points in 2020.
Now, Biden and Allred are getting a lot of secret help from a new PAC.
Funded by the infamous mega donor George Soros, the Texas Majority PAC plans to make massive inroads this year.
“Texas Majority PAC has kept a relatively low profile since forming over a year ago in the wake of the 2022 election,” the Texas Tribune reported.
The Soros-funded PAC has already raised $2.25 million through last year.
With Soros’ help, the Texas Majority PAC has invested heavily in blue areas of the state.
Their hope is to beef up their campaign infrastructure in order to boost their numbers in these Democrat strongholds.
The Texas Tribune pointed out, “working with the PAC, Soros made six-figure donations to three county parties – Dallas, Cameron, and Hidalgo – and a few other groups that have a regional focus…”
The Tribune also noted, “the PAC has already disclosed raising $852,000 through June of last year, most of it from the Soros-funded Democracy PAC II.”
Soros, as the PAC’s biggest donor, is looking to hit the GOP hard by taking their biggest state from them, handing it over to the Democrats on a silver platter.
While Democrats are scoring big financially in Texas, they are struggling to manage some major demographic shifts.
Exit polls from 2016 showed that Trump earned the support from about 34% of Hispanic voters.
A number that increased to 41% in 2020.
Early polls are suggesting this trend should continue, especially with the damage Biden has done to the economy paired with his failure to consider addressing the open border.
The Democrats’ push for amnesty and catch-and-release is designed to try and shore up the Hispanic vote.
Little do Democrats know, not all voters subscribe to their single-minded identity politics.
