Hakeem Jeffries got caught in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal at the worst possible time

House Democrats thought they controlled the Jeffrey Epstein narrative.

Their strategy just exploded in their faces.

And Hakeem Jeffries got caught in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal at the worst possible time.

Jeffries Campaign Solicited Donations From Convicted Sex Offender

New documents from Jeffrey Epstein's estate dropped a bombshell that has House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries scrambling for cover.

House Oversight Chairman James Comer exposed a 2013 email on the House floor showing a firm representing Jeffries solicited campaign donations from Epstein and invited him to a private dinner with President Barack Obama.

"Another email shows fundraisers invited Epstein to an event or to meet privately with Hakeem Jeffries as part of their 2013 effort to win a majority," Comer announced. "So Hakeem Jeffries' campaign solicited money from Jeffrey Epstein. That's what we found in the last document batch."¹

The email came from Dynamic SRG, a New York City consulting firm working to boost Jeffries' early congressional career.

They described the young congressman as "Brooklyn's Obama" and pitched Epstein on getting involved with Democratic fundraising efforts.

"Hakeem is committed to electing a Democrat majority in 2014 and is encouraging his friends to participate in the DCCC/DSCC fundraising dinner with President Obama," the email read.²

Here's what makes this toxic for Democrats.

Epstein had already served 13 months in prison for procuring a child for prostitution when Jeffries' team reached out to him in May 2013.

The convicted sex offender wasn't some unknown figure whose crimes hadn't been exposed yet.

Every political operative in Washington knew exactly who Jeffrey Epstein was by 2013.

When asked about the email, Jeffries told CNN he had "no recollection" of it and claimed he never met Epstein or received donations from him.³

That's the same dodge every politician uses when documents expose uncomfortable connections.

Democrat Delegate Coached By Epstein During Congressional Hearing

The Jeffries revelation came as Congress overwhelmingly voted 427-1 to force the Justice Department to release all files related to Epstein and his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell.

Democrats pushed the bill while claiming President Donald Trump had something to hide about his past interactions with Epstein.

But the newly released documents revealed Democrats had their own Epstein problems they'd been hiding.

U.S. Virgin Islands Delegate Stacey Plaskett exchanged texts with Epstein during a February 2019 congressional hearing where Michael Cohen testified against Trump.

The texts show Epstein watched the hearing in real time and coached Plaskett on what questions to ask Cohen.

"Cohen brought up RONA – keeper of the secrets," Epstein texted Plaskett, referring to longtime Trump assistant Rhona Graff.⁴

Plaskett responded "RONA??" before adding "Quick I'm up next is that an acronym."

Minutes later, Plaskett questioned Cohen specifically about Graff and other Trump associates.

After Plaskett finished her questioning, Epstein texted "Good work."⁵

Records also show Plaskett accepted thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from Epstein in 2016 and 2018.

House Freedom Caucus Chairman Andy Harris introduced a resolution to censure Plaskett and remove her from the Intelligence Committee for "colluding with a convicted felon during a congressional hearing."

The censure vote failed 209-214, with Democrats circling the wagons to protect Plaskett from accountability.

Jeffries refused to condemn Plaskett's conduct when reporters asked him directly about the text exchanges with Epstein.

"I think she needs to be censured by the House and removed from the Intelligence Committee for colluding with a convicted felon during a congressional hearing," Harris stated. "That does not reflect well on the House of Representatives."⁶

Socialist Primary Challenge Threatens Jeffries At Home

The Epstein revelations couldn't come at a worse time for Jeffries.

New York City Councilman Chi Ossé just filed paperwork to challenge Jeffries in the 2026 Democrat primary.

Ossé, a 27-year-old democratic socialist who recently joined the Democratic Socialists of America, argues Democrat leadership "is not only failing to effectively fight back against Donald Trump, they have also failed to deliver a vision that we can all believe in."⁷

Even Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez distanced herself from the challenge.

"I certainly don't think a primary challenge to the leader is a good idea right now," Ocasio-Cortez told reporters.⁸

Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, another democratic socialist, privately urged Ossé not to run against Jeffries.

But internal polling from September showed Jeffries vulnerable in his Brooklyn district.

A survey found 72% would vote for Jeffries against Ossé in a head-to-head matchup, but half the district voters had never heard of Ossé.⁹

That 21-point support for an unknown challenger suggests deep dissatisfaction with Jeffries' leadership.

The same poll showed 68% of New York Democrats view Mamdani favorably and 75% have a positive opinion of Ocasio-Cortez, while Jeffries sits at just 58%.¹⁰

When asked about Ossé's challenge Monday, Jeffries tried projecting confidence.

"Come on in, the water is warm," Jeffries told reporters.¹¹

But Democrats know Ocasio-Cortez used the same strategy in 2018 when she was a 27-year-old nobody who toppled a member of House leadership.

Now Jeffries faces mounting questions about why his campaign solicited a convicted sex offender for donations while simultaneously positioning himself as a champion of transparency on Epstein's crimes.

Democrats spent months demanding Trump answer for his past social interactions with Epstein.

Those same Democrats went silent when documents exposed Jeffries' team actively courting Epstein for political donations and Plaskett accepting Epstein's real-time coaching during a congressional hearing.

The hypocrisy couldn't be more obvious if Democrats tried.
