Harrison Butker is an NFL kicker – a position that’s not known to produce many household names.
Yet, Butker became one of the most popular players in the NFL after daring to speak about his traditional Christian values and supporting Donald Trump.
But now Harrison Butker unleashed something on American men no one saw coming.
NFL players diversifying their portfolios
NFL players can make multiple millions of dollars, sometimes tens or even hundreds of millions of dollars for playing a game.
Unfortunately, many squander their fortune with big spending and small financial planning.
However, some players have learned from the past and are using their massive salaries to invest in other businesses.
For example, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes brought his favorite burger chain, Whataburger, from Texas to Missouri and Kansas.
Mahomes has eight orange-and-white striped locations so far, mostly in the Kansas City area.
But he has plans to expand to 30 locations, serving fancy ketchup throughout the Show Me State and the Sunflower State.
And Mahomes isn’t alone.
His teammate, placekicker Harrison Butker has also invested in a non-football business.
The devout Christian opened a luxury tailor shop that makes both collections and custom items, named Shepherd’s.
And now Butker is teaming up with The Daily Wire’s Michael Knowles for an interesting new project.
Michael Knowles has designed a “masterpiece” smoking jacket
Dr. Jordan Peterson, in his 12 Rules for Life bestseller, offers a lot of great advice for men.
There are some themes to his rules, and one of the centerpieces is the idea of living for purpose.
And according to the expert clinical psychologist, simple things like taking care of your appearance, and wearing a nice suit can lead to men living more purposefully and achieving more goals.
Peterson’s fellow Daily Wire host, Michael Knowles agrees and wants men to start embracing luxury and formality.
Along with hosting a Daily Wire podcast, Knowles is a cigar aficionado and owns a cigar company called Mayflower.
And Knowles believes he can add formality to men’s lives with his new smoking jacket that he described as a “masterpiece” on the Mayflower website.
“It is a testament to unsurpassed craftsmanship and luxury,” the jacket’s description reads. “Reifying the refinement and pleasure that accompany a premium cigar, all elements were carefully chosen in accord with our commitment to authenticity and quality, representing the centuries of family tradition, culture, and devotion that combine to bring forth each Mayflower creation.”
Harrison Butker is crafting Knowles’ smoking jacket
While Knowles knows cigars, he had to turn to an expert tailor to create the perfect smoking jacket.
That’s why he partners with Butker and Shepherd’s.
“The Mayflower Smoking Jacket is designed and tailored in collaboration with Shepherd’s, the custom fine menswear company in Kansas City, Missouri, co-founded by Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker,” the description reads.
Knowles and Butker hope their nearly $900 smoking jacket can shift the culture away from hyper-casualism.
“This is about forcing men to sit down for 45 minutes, either with a good book or with some good friends and to converse for the goodness of friendship and for the goodness of leisure,” Knowles said in an interview with The Post Millennial. “We live in an officiously casual culture, but you know exterior postures and adornments reflect interior realities.”
