One of the worst kept secrets in Washington, D.C. is that Hillary Clinton is champing at the bit to replace Joe Biden as Democrats’ nominee for President in 2024.
She’s been angling to position herself as the Democrat establishment’s only Biden alternative.
But now Hillary Clinton dropped a major 2024 announcement absolutely no one saw coming.
According to a CNBC All-America Economic Survey released last month, 70% of American voters oppose the idea of President Joe Biden running for re-election.
For the record, that same poll found that 9% more Americans oppose Biden’s re-election effort than oppose former President Donald Trump’s third White House run, which is really saying something when you consider the difference in the way each is treated by the so-called “mainstream” media.
Nevertheless, despite the fact that the American people haven’t wanted a President to not run more than they don’t want Biden to run, he continues to push the idea that he will be the Democrat nominee in 2024.
That didn’t stop former First Lady Hillary Clinton from doing the rounds on corporate-controlled media outlets throughout 2022 to lay some groundwork for a third Presidential campaign of her own, just in case President Biden decided to bow out.
But now, it seems as though Hillary may be closing the book on whatever shred of hope she had for another White House run.
In a statement, Columbia University President Lee Bollinger announced that the former First Lady would be joining the school as a professor of international relations.
“I have had the great pleasure of knowing Hillary personally for three decades, since her early days as First Lady of the United States,” Bollinger said in a statement. “Her public service has expanded since then, most notably in her remarkably successful tenure as Senator for the State of New York, in her impressive role as Secretary of State, and in her two historic and record-breaking presidential campaigns. Given her extraordinary talents and capacities together with her singular life experiences, Hillary Clinton is unique, and, most importantly, exceptional in what she can bring to the University’s missions of research and teaching, along with public service and engagement for the public good.”
Of course, many have questioned the decision to allow Hillary Clinton to “teach” anyone about foreign policy.
After all, as Secretary of State she was responsible for the “reset button” with Russia that has clearly worked out so well, totally botched the Arab Spring, involved the U.S. in the Libyan Civil War without Congressional authorization, and was one of the most hawkish voices in an Obama regime filled with war hawks.
That’s not exactly the resume of someone who should be teaching future foreign policy leaders — they should be taught to learn from her failures.
At the same time, Hillary Clinton does fit the bill of the exact type of professor left-wing universities are looking for who can help indoctrinate future generations of American youngsters with woke left-wing extremism.
But there’s no chance she’s happy that she’s finally being forced to admit she’s an utter failure in the political world, and take the path of so many failed ruling class figure heads before her and retreat to a university campus where she can be worshiped as some sort of left-wing hero.
“I am honored to join Columbia University and the School of International and Public Affairs and Columbia World Projects,” Clinton said in a statement announcing her hiring. “Columbia’s commitment to educating the next generation of U.S. and global policy leaders, translating insights into impact, and helping to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges resonates personally with me. I look forward to contributing to these efforts.”
At the end of the day, though, Clinton’s new job is just further proof that despite the fact that the American people overwhelmingly oppose a Biden re-election campaign, the Democrat ruling class is still circling the wagons behind his candidacy.
Every Democrat of consequence is beginning to fall in line behind Joe Biden, and with Hillary Clinton out of the way, his path is now clear to mount a re-election campaign in his eighties.
