Joe Biden’s declining mental faculties are becoming an impossible issue for Democrats to ignore.
Many expected Democrats would back Kamala Harris if Biden steps down in 2024.
But that notion may have just blown up after Biden underwent a recent emergency medical procedure.
Joe Biden transferred Presidential powers to Kamala Harris last week for 85 minutes while he underwent a colonoscopy at Walter Reed Medical Center.
During the procedure, doctors removed a precancerous lesion from Joe Biden.
The Associated Press reports:
The polyp removed from President Joe Biden’s colon last week was a benign, slow-growing but potentially pre-cancerous lesion that required no further action, his doctor said in a follow-up memo.
The specimen, a tubular adenoma, was similar to one removed from Biden in 2008, Dr. Kevin C. O’Connor, physician to the President, wrote in a memo released Wednesday by the White House.
Routine surveillance, which normally calls for another colonoscopy in 7 to 10 years, was recommended, he wrote.
A colon polyp is a small clump of cells that forms on the lining of the colon. According to the Mayo Clinic’s website, most polyps are harmless, but some can develop into colon cancer over time.
A recent POLITICO/Morning Consult poll showed 50 percent of Americans do not believe Joe Biden is physically fit, while only 42 believe he is in good health.
According to that same poll, only 46 percent of Americans believe Biden is mentally fit to serve as President, while 48 percent say he is not.
Of course, Joe Biden still says he is planning to run for re-election in 2024.
But with Biden’s approval ratings tanking, his declining mental faculties are making it nearly impossible for him to stage a political turnaround, as polls show more and more Americans do not believe Joe Biden is physically or mentally fit to serve as President.
That could be what prevents Joe Biden from running for re-election in 2024.
But Biden’s emergency surgery power handoff to Kamala Harris may have also doomed Harris’ prospects in 2024 if Hillary Clinton has a say.
Hillary was supposed to be the first female to hold power as President after all.
And Clinton is notorious for not only holding grudges but getting her payback.
Expect the Clinton political machine to go all in for Pete Buttigieg or anyone but Kamala Harris when Joe Biden finally admits he’s done in the Oval Office.
