Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has been torched in the past for running a city that’s one of the biggest hot messes in the nation.
The Chicago Public School system is where countless violent thugs in the city get their start.
But while administrators and teachers would like to blame students’ home lives, a jaw-dropping new report reveals that in at least hundreds of cases teachers are violating their students in the most intimate way possible.
The Chicago Board of Education’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) released a report filled with hundreds of instances where teachers raped, sexually assaulted, and groomed their students.
The OIG’s Sexual Allegations Unit (SAU) reported opening an unbelievable 447 cases they opened to investigate teachers for sexual misconduct.
“In its fourth year of operations, the OIG’s Sexual Allegations Unit has taken remarkable strides in the manner that it manages the large volume of complaints of adult-to-student sexual misconduct reported each school year,” the report read.
Based on the information provided it seems having a slew of complaints to investigate is nothing new—in fact it’s unclear how many sexual misconduct cases have simply been overlooked in the past.
The oversight agency state that the SAU “closed 300 more cases than the unit did in 2021, thanks in large measure to new procedures in the intake and assessment of complaints that were enacted late last year, the Board’s investment of resources in the unit and the collaboration with partner CPS departments, notably the Office of Student Protections.”
Unbelievably, there’s still a backlog of complaints going back to 2018 with a total of 349 cases pending.
The report included graphic information where sick teachers were caught soliciting students.
In one case a teacher messaged a student writing, “‘I’m ready to f*** right now … I’m not gonna be gentle either.’”
The SAU claims that another male teacher initiated “intimate physical contact with students (including kisses, sexual hugs, and back-rubs), [and] openly solicited sexual acts (such as asking a student to recruit another student for a ‘threesome’).”
In yet another case a teacher begged the victim not to report the sexual abuse received.
“Please no…we r talking about my entire life here……Please…I’m begging u…,” the instructor wrote in a message to the victim.
The Left tends to get its hackles up when conservatives describe teachers obsessed with discussing sexual topics with students as “groomers.”
But this report reveals exactly why teachers need to be held accountable.
The OIG report is filled with textbook cases of grooming by predators targeting vulnerable children.
One case detailed in the report described a teacher discussing his sex life with a student through phone calls and social media private messages, along with “other common grooming techniques.”
The hundreds of cases chronicled in the OIG report doesn’t even include those where students may be so effectively cowed by their groomers that they’re protecting their abusers.
The Left needs to be held accountable for protecting bad teachers by shooting down all concerns about epidemic grooming inside government-funded schools.
It’s no wonder more and more parents are pulling their children from public schools.
But it’s reprehensible that a single penny of local, state, and federal taxpayer dollars is going to pay sexual predators to have a captive audience inside schools.
