President Joe Biden’s son Hunter is in the midst of a criminal investigation and a major part of Biden’s impeachment inquiry.
But now Hunter Biden has gone on the offensive and is in attack mode.
In a weak and pitiful attempt to refute the contents of the “laptop from hell,” Hunter Biden is now claiming he was simply the victim of a bullying campaign by conservatives over his addiction to drugs.
Hunter is trying to claim the laptop is not really a smoking gun containing evidence of Joe Biden’s involvement in the family business of an alleged influence peddling ring.
The First Son recently published an op-ed in USA Today, almost certainly crafted by the Biden family lawyers and P.R. hacks.
In the op-ed, Hunter claimed to be the victim of a “disinformation” campaign.
This is despite the fact his business associates testified that he was in the business of “selling the brand,” invited Joe Biden on speaker phone 20 times during business meetings and that emails on his laptop showed Joe Biden’s involvement in his foreign business deals.
“My struggles and my mistakes have been fodder for a vile and sustained disinformation campaign against him, and an all-out annihilation of my reputation through high-pitched but fruitless congressional investigations and, more recently, criminal charges for possessing an unloaded gun for 11 days five years ago – charges that appear to be the first-ever of their kind brought in the history of Delaware,” Biden wrote.
It is ironic that Hunter Biden claimed to be the victim of “first-ever of their kind” gun charges for lying on the background check form when purchasing a gun at the same time DOJ prosecutors are violating the law to lock up Donald Trump and his supporters for hundreds of years.
And it is important to note that getting caught lying on a gun purchase form is not a “first of its kind” criminal charge.
The only part of the charges that are “first of their kind” is the sweetheart deal prosecutors are trying to cut with Hunter Biden.
Hunter Biden is merely attempting to gaslight the public into believing his scandals and his father’s scandals aren’t simply cases of public corruption where a family got rich selling access to public office.
He is trying to say the investigations into their alleged criminal acts are nothing more than attempts to hurt Joe Biden politically by demonizing his addict son.
Biden also falsely claimed Fox News and the New York Post – which broke the story about the contents of his laptop – were nothing more than right-wing smear merchants.
“What troubles me is the demonization of addiction, of human frailty, using me as its avatar and the devastating consequences it has for the millions struggling with addiction, desperate for a way out and being bombarded by the denigrating and near-constant coverage of me and my addiction on Fox News (more airtime than GOP presidential candidate Ron DeSantis) and in the New York Post (an average of two stories a day over the past year),” Biden added.
As the self-proclaimed hero of his own sordid tale, Biden wanted to present an image of himself as a good man who is merely trying to overcome the struggle of addiction instead of being the sleazy, swampy President’s son whose only real skill in life was selling access to his father to the highest bidder.
“The effort of recovery is something that should be celebrated, and I hope that despite my role as the punchline and punching bag for some, others will also make the effort I have made, one day at a time, and get honest with themselves and the people who love and rely upon them,” Biden concluded.
In reality the only thing Hunter Biden has done is create even more concerns over Biden family corruption.
