Hunter Biden's inner circle spent years waging lawfare against conservatives who exposed Biden family corruption.
But one of Hunter's closest allies just had the rug pulled out from under him.
And Hunter Biden's "sugar brother" just ran from his own lawsuit after this devastating discovery.
Hollywood Power Broker Kevin Morris Abruptly Abandons Legal Battle
Kevin Morris built his career brokering deals for Hollywood A-listers like the creators of "South Park" and Matthew McConaughey.
But the entertainment lawyer's most controversial client became Hunter Biden in 2019, when Morris met the troubled Biden scion at a campaign fundraiser for Joe Biden.
Morris didn't just represent Hunter legally — he bankrolled the former First Son's lifestyle to the tune of $6.5 million in loans and payments.¹
That money covered over $2 million in unpaid taxes, car payments, legal bills, and Morris even bought $875,000 worth of Hunter's artwork.²
Morris is trying to quietly walk away from a lawsuit he filed against conservative researcher Garrett Ziegler — and he won't explain why.
Morris sued Ziegler in 2023 over accusations that Ziegler impersonated Democratic fundraiser Jon Cooper in a text exchange to extract information about Hunter Biden's infamous laptop.
The lawsuit alleged doxing and harassment after Marco Polo, Ziegler's nonprofit research group, published a comprehensive 644-page report documenting hundreds of potential crimes found on Hunter's laptop.³
But after two and a half years of litigation, Morris abruptly moved to dismiss the case without prejudice last Tuesday.
Ziegler's attorney Jennifer Holliday immediately challenged the dismissal request.
"Over two and a half years into a meritless lawsuit, and without producing any evidence of the telephone number of the alleged impersonator … Plaintiff seeks voluntary dismissal without prejudice, in complete disregard of the terms of the Remittitur and of Defendants' rights," Holliday argued in court documents.⁴
Conservative Researcher Demands Nearly $365,000 Before Case Can Be Dropped
Ziegler isn't letting Morris walk away that easily.
His legal team demanded Morris pay $364,814 in legal fees before the lawsuit can be dismissed.
"Plaintiff, an experienced and well-resourced entertainment attorney, initiated litigation against out-of-state defendants for engaging in constitutionally protected speech," Holliday emphasized.⁵
Morris's lawyers claimed he wants to drop the case because he believes Ziegler "cannot and will not be able to afford any judgment" and Morris doesn't want to waste more time and money on a case that won't result in a "collectible judgment."⁶
That excuse doesn't hold water.
Morris is a Hollywood power broker who loaned millions to Hunter Biden without batting an eye.
Get this: the real reason Morris wants out became crystal clear when you look at what happened in his lawsuit.
The California Court of Appeals slapped down Morris's claims that Ziegler violated the state's criminal doxing statute over the summer.
The court also rejected Morris's tort claims for civil harassment.
Only Morris's impersonation claims were allowed to proceed — and apparently Morris realized he couldn't prove those either.
"In his Complaint, Morris alleges, without ever producing the telephone number or any phone records or other reliable evidence, that this 'impersonator' was Defendant Garrett Ziegler, who has offered an unrebutted sworn statement that he did not message Morris," Holliday pointed out in court documents.⁷
Biden Allies Keep Using Lawfare Then Running When They Have to Prove Their Claims
Hunter Biden and his allies aren't strangers to filing aggressive lawsuits only to abandon them when forced to produce evidence.
Hunter himself dropped his laptop lawsuit against Ziegler in March after a judge determined he couldn't bring the case again.
At the time, Hunter claimed financial difficulties from the Los Angeles fires prevented him from continuing.
But Ziegler opposed Hunter's dismissal motion as the defendant, demanding compensation for attorney's fees — the exact same playbook he's running against Morris now.
Here's the game: file lawsuits to intimidate and bankrupt critics, then flee when discovery forces you to prove your claims under oath.
Morris originally threatened Ziegler with financial destruction after realizing he'd been tricked into discussing Hunter's laptop.
"You're going to prison and we're going to get all of the money your family has and you will work for us for the rest of your life," Morris allegedly texted Ziegler.⁸
"You'll come to my house everyday and wash my car," Morris added. "We will follow you to the ends of the earth."
Those threats look pretty hollow now that Morris is the one trying to escape the courtroom.
Ziegler spent 18 months combing through Hunter Biden's laptop with his Marco Polo research team.
The 644-page report they published documents potential violations of numerous federal and state laws related to business dealings, drug crimes, and more.
Morris helped bankroll Hunter's legal battles against Ziegler and others who exposed the laptop contents.
He was even present at Hunter's side during key legal proceedings, including Hunter's gun crimes trial.
But apparently Morris wasn't willing to sit for depositions and defend his accusations under oath.
A court hearing on the dismissal motion could occur as early as January 29, 2026.
Morris will have to pay Ziegler's legal fees — it's just a question of how much.
And every conservative who exposes Biden family corruption should remember what just happened here: sue us, and you better be ready to prove it in court.
