Republican chairman exposes Crockett’s impeachment hypocrisy during heated judiciary hearing
California Republican Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA) recently chaired a House hearing focused on his legislation that would limit district court judges’ ability to impose nationwide injunctions.
The controversial practice of nationwide injunctions has created a system where over 600 district court judges effectively hold more power than the President, forcing the commander-in-chief to beg permission before implementing policy decisions.
A perfect example of this judicial overreach occurred when a San Francisco District Court Judge blocked President Trump from ending Temporary Protected Status for Venezuelan illegal aliens – despite the fact that during Trump’s first term, even the leftist Ninth Circuit ruled that a President ending such status isn’t subject to judicial review based on the plain language of the relevant statute.
These activist rulings from Democrat-appointed judges send a clear message to American voters: Donald Trump doesn’t get to be President in their eyes.
President Trump and his allies, including Elon Musk, have called on Congress to exercise its constitutional power of impeachment and remove these rogue judges issuing lawless rulings.
During the hearing, Crockett hijacked the proceedings to launch into a dramatic tirade, claiming that President Trump’s support for impeaching activist judges would destroy American democracy.
“The problem that we have right now is that if we continue down this road, then we will not have a rule of law, because we have people that are currently serving and they’re saying things like, ignore the judge’s order,” Crockett declared.
She lectured the committee that proper procedure meant following a judge’s order even if you disagreed with it, then using the appeals process.
“What it means to have law and order in this country is that you follow the order and you go through the appeals process, even if you dislike what the judge did. Thank you. And I yield a question for me, which I’ll yield to you now that there’s no time left,” Crockett concluded.
After Crockett yielded her remaining time, Issa took control of the hearing again by recognizing himself to speak.
That’s when he dropped a bombshell that exposed Crockett’s stunning hypocrisy on judicial impeachment.

Issa reminded the committee – and viewers – that Crockett had enthusiastically co-sponsored Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) articles of impeachment against Supreme Court Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas over manufactured corruption scandals.
“But I’ll take my own time. I’ll recognize myself, and I’m going to note that when Miss uh, Casio Cortez, Cortez, or AOC, as we know her, filed articles of impeachment, uh, on Justice Thomas and Alito, Miss Crockett was one of the co-sponsors along with Mr. Cohen, both members of this committee,” Issa stated.
Issa then brilliantly exposed the breathtaking double standard Crockett and her fellow Democrats have employed regarding the judiciary.
Democrats like Crockett suddenly pretend the judiciary is a sacred institution that must never be questioned – after spending years trying to delegitimize the Supreme Court following the 2022 Dobbs decision that overturned Roe v. Wade.
“It does seem interesting that when the shoe is on the other foot, everyone is self-righteous, and I think this is a good example for the last three hours, I have had to listen to one side talking about impeachment as though it was the nature of this hearing. It is not,” Issa concluded.
Crockett’s crusade against the Supreme Court shows that Democrats only believe in respecting judicial authority when leftist judges are advancing their preferred policies through judicial activism.
When conservative judges make rulings based on the actual text of the Constitution, Democrats like Crockett suddenly discover their enthusiasm for judicial impeachment.
The situation perfectly illustrates how Democrats want different sets of rules for different groups of people.
When Trump-appointed judges issue rulings that follow constitutional principles, they’re “threats to democracy” according to Democrats.
But when Obama and Biden-appointed judges repeatedly block Trump’s agenda with dubious legal reasoning, they’re “heroes protecting the rule of law.”
Democrats’ selective outrage about respecting judicial rulings has become transparent to most Americans.
Voters remember how Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer stood on the Supreme Court steps and threatened Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, saying they “won’t know what hit them” if they ruled against Democrat policies.
They also remember how Democrats, including Crockett, pushed to pack the Supreme Court when rulings didn’t go their way.
Crockett’s embarrassing moment shows exactly why Democrats lost control of the House in 2022 and why they lost the White House in 2024.
Their transparent double standards and hypocrisy have become impossible to ignore, even for many of their own voters.
