Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell made one of the biggest mistakes of his life.
He is in hot water over one recent call.
And jaws dropped when Lindsey Graham told Sean Hannity this bad news about Mitch McConnell.
For the past few months, Mitch McConnell told Senate Democrats that if they wanted to use the reconciliation process to ram through trillions of dollars in new spending and tax hikes, then they should use the same process to raise the debt ceiling.
But McConnell’s standoff with Chuck Schumer didn’t last long.
After Democrats made empty threats about changing the filibuster to accommodate raising the debt ceiling, Mitch McConnell caved in and folded to Schumer.
McConnell screwed up so badly that even RINO Lindsey Graham is blasting him over it.
Graham let loose in a recent interview with Sean Hannity.
“Well, we screwed up,” Graham told Sean Hannity. “For two months, we’ve promised to the American people that we would not help the Democratic Party raise the debt ceiling so they could spend $3.5 to $5 trillion through reconciliation. At the end of the day, we blinked. Two things have happened: We’ve let our people down, and we made the Democrats believe we are all talk and no action.”
Graham wasn’t done ripping McConnell and tore into the Senate Minority Leader for going back on the promise he made to the American people to fight against raising the debt ceiling.
“At the end of the day, every Republican voted against raising the debt ceiling. Every Democratic senator voted for it. But we had a process in place. We made a promise for two months that we would make them do it without our help, and we folded. And I hate that. We are in a hole. We have got to dig out of the hole, and we can’t. We shot ourselves in the foot tonight, but we will revisit the issue in December,” Graham added.
Grassroots Conservatives are infuriated with McConnell for surrendering on the debt ceiling.
And many are wondering how Republicans can move forward after McConnell caved to Democrats on the debt ceiling.
