The first 100 days of Joe Biden’s administration have been especially rough for Press Secretary Jen Psaki.
She’s earned a reputation for dodging tough questions, often telling reporters she’ll “circle back” at a later date.
But jaws dropped when this reporter asked Jen Psaki about Joe Biden’s racist past at a recent White House press briefing.
Last week, Joe Biden addressed the nation after a jury found officer Derek Chauvin guilty on all counts in the George Floyd trial.
During his speech, Joe Biden ripped the United States, calling it a systematically racist nation with a justice system that has unfairly oppressed and jailed black Americans over the years.
And during a White House press briefing the next day, New York Post reporter Steve Nelson asked Jen Psaki about Biden’s support for the 1994 crime bill, which the Black Lives Matter movement claims led to the unjust mass incarceration of black Americans.
“To what extent does President Biden acknowledge his own role in systemic racism, and how does that inform his current policy positions?” Nelson asked Psaki.
“Well, I would say that the President is – one of the President’s core objectives is addressing racial injustice in this country not just through his rhetoric, but through his actions,” responded Psaki, clearly trying to avoid the question.
Psaki then tried to cover up Biden’s racist past by saying the only thing that matters today is that he supports the anti-police legislation in the Senate.
“And what anyone should look to is his advocacy for passing the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, for nominating leaders to the Department of Justice to address long-outdated policies, and to ask his team – leadership team here in the White House to prioritize these issues in his presidency, which is current and today and not from 30 years ago.”
However, Nelson refused to accept Psaki’s answer by asking her if Joe Biden would own up to his role in perpetuating institutions that he now claims are racist.
“I think I’ve answered your question,” an enraged Psaki shot back.
Of course, Psaki is only used to getting tough questions from Fox News or Newsmax.
But the truth is, Joe Biden worked with segregationist Senators in the past to spearhead the passage of the 1994 crime bill.
Kamala Harris even attacked Biden over his racist past during the first Democrat debate.
But now Jen Psaki and Biden’s handlers are trying to sweep that part of his history under the rug.
