Jen Psaki serves as the mouthpiece for the Biden administration.
She doesn’t take criticism too well.
And Jen Psaki blew a gasket after Tucker Carlson called her out for making this one illegal order.
After Spotify put a content warning on Joe Rogan’s podcast, Jen Paski applauded the company.
Spotify put the disclaimer on Rogan’s podcast after leftists complained that he interviewed doctors who contradicted Big Pharma, CNN, and the Biden administration’s narrative on COVID vaccines and potential early treatments.
But Psaki did more than just compliment Spotify.
During a White House press briefing, she called on Spotify to not only censor Joe Rogan, but also any other podcasts that spread so-called “misinformation.”
“This disclaimer, it’s a positive step. But we want every platform to continue doing more to call out mis- and disinformation, while also uplifting accurate information . . . But ultimately, our view is, it’s a good step, it’s a positive step but there’s more that can be done,” Psaki stated.
Of course, “misinformation” is defined by Democrats as any point of view that leftists either disagree with or makes them feel uncomfortable.
Pointing out that what Jen Psaki did was actually illegal, Tucker Carlson ripped her authoritarian demand for private companies to censor speech on behalf of the Biden administration.
“There’s more that can be done?” Carlson stated. “Hey, you little fascist, that’s a threat. That’s exactly what it is. Politicians and their spokeschicks didn’t used to talk this way. They were not allowed to talk this way because the First Amendment explicitly prohibits it. You’re not allowed to use government power to shut down broadcasters who criticize you, period. And now that’s exactly what they’re trying to do.”
Carlson is correct, as Supreme Court case law states that private companies are not allowed to censor on behalf of the government.
If a company carries out a demand issued by the government to censor speech, since that company is now considered an agent of the government, censoring speech will be a violation of the First Amendment.
Jen Psaki clearly violated this Supreme Court precedent by calling on private companies to censor speech.
Since their ideological allies run the tech world, Democrats think they can get away with government mandated corporate censorship.
But that doesn’t change the fact that it’s illegal for government agents to order private companies to take down content.
And many Americans are expecting the courts to eventually intervene and begin to push back against Big Tech censoring on behalf of the Biden administration.
