Jen Psaki stooped to a new low in a sad effort to protect her boss.
While her press briefings are always painful, this one was excruciating.
And her pathetic effort to blame Donald Trump for the deaths of Americans defies logic.
Jen Psaki was recently caught on camera laughing at Americans worried about the spiking murder rate, but when facing the press she was quick to throw the blame at Donald Trump.
Thanks to Democrats, murders were up four percent last year and it was the deadliest year on record in at least 12 cities.
Naturally, that’s making Americans nervous with 69% of respondents to a Rasmussen poll giving Biden poor marks for how he’s handled crime.
But when a reporter asked Psaki why Americans don’t feel safe with Biden at the helm, she tried to blame Trump.
She pointed out that there was a rise of murders in 2020.
Yep. Just in time for the presidential election.
She conveniently failed to mention that those crime rates were fueled by the party of “Defund the Police” in blue states.
Following the death of George Floyd, Democratic governors and mayors allowed rioters to loot, burn, and destroy American cities.
That absolute breakdown in the rule of law was set up by District Attorneys who systematically refused to enforce the law and supported insane “Defund the Police” campaigns.
As head of the Democratic Party, Biden stood by allowing the country to implode.
Now it’s up to Psaki to convince us that the President’s party doesn’t have blood on its hands.
“Our view is that instead of turning this into a political football, we need to be focused . . . on reducing crime and keeping our communities safe. And that’s why he’s been a long-time advocate for more accountable community policing,” Psaki said.
Then she pulled out the oldest, tiredest, leftist talking point and blamed the Second Amendment for Democrats’ failures, claiming that Biden’s work to strip our right to defend ourselves in a lawless land is an acceptable solution.
“His objective is to work with Democrats, Republicans, mayors, and local leaders to work to address what we’ve seen as increases in crime in some areas,” Psaki stated.
Of course, that’s a position career criminals would hire a lobbyist to push.
After all, ransacking our country will be even easier if law abiding citizens aren’t allowed to defend themselves.
Psaki then fell back on her earlier blame game argument saying, “I would just note that, nationwide, there has been an increases (sic) in crime over the past few years.”
But if you want to look at the past “few” years, crime stats tell a different story.
Back in 2015, when Democrat Barack Obama was in office the murder rate increased by 11.37% and by 8.91% in 2016.
Once Trump tightened the reins the rate declined by 1.37% in 2017 and decreased even more in 2018 with a 6.77% drop.
Things really got ugly when leftists decided to basically burn down the country ahead of the 2020 election—and they weren’t a bit interested in Trump’s offer to send in military help to regain control.
Even now, Democrats continue to give criminals free-reign in places like Seattle where officers can’t pull over motorists because they might not be able to afford the fines—or in New York City where the District Attorney vows to only prosecute crimes like murder and “serious” sexual assaults.
In fact, these days it looks like Democratic “lawmakers” are practically working for the criminals.
