Gun control activist David Hogg thought he could shake up the Democrat Party from the inside.

The 25-year-old Parkland shooting survivor who parlayed tragedy into political activism just learned a harsh lesson about taking on the Democrat establishment.
Hogg won election as Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee back in February after promising to reform the party and challenge "ineffective Democrats" who had been "asleep at the wheel."
But his victory celebration was short-lived.
Within months, the DNC moved to oust him from his leadership position using a procedural challenge that even Hogg admits was suspicious timing.
The party claimed Hogg’s original election violated their sacred gender parity rules.
Kalyn Free, an Oklahoma attorney who lost to Hogg in the original vote, filed a complaint alleging the election process discriminated against "three women of color candidates."
DNC rules require that the executive committee be "as equally divided as practicable" along gender lines. However, instead of holding separate votes for the two remaining vice chair positions, the DNC conducted a single vote for both spots. Free said the combined vote unfairly favored male candidates as members were required to select at least one man to maintain gender parity.
The DNC Credentials Committee sided with Free and recommended voiding the election results.

Fox News host Jesse Watters saw right through the Democrats’ flimsy excuse for giving Hogg the boot.
During a recent segment, Watters delivered a blistering assessment of why the DNC really wanted Hogg gone.
"So this guy got 86’d because he’s white, he’s a guy and allegedly he’s straight — I don’t want to impose that on him," Watters said. "The Democrats say they learned a lesson last election, but you look at this, it doesn’t look like they learned anything."

DNC Chair Ken Martin gave Hogg an ultimatum: either stop challenging incumbents or give up his leadership position.
Martin said he would propose changes to the DNC rules that would mandate its officers to remain neutral in all Democratic primaries, not just the presidential primary overseen by the committee.
The Democrats show their true colors on diversity
The timing of the "procedural" challenge exposes the Democrats’ cynical game.
Free’s challenge alleging that the vice chair elections did not follow proper procedure was brought forth on Feb. 28, before Hogg announced the $20 million investment in mid-April.
But as Hogg said it is "impossible to ignore the broader context" of his criticisms when looking at how the challenge played out.
Even Hogg wasn’t buying the party’s innocent act.
"While this vote was based on how the DNC conducted its officers’ elections, which I had nothing to do with, it is also impossible to ignore the broader context of my work to reform the party which loomed large over this vote," Hogg said.
The Democrats proved they only care about diversity when it serves their political interests.
The second a white male threatens their power structure, suddenly the diversity rules become weapons of destruction.

Hogg learns you can’t fight City Hall
After months of fighting, Hogg finally threw in the towel.
In a lengthy thread on X, Hogg posted "It is clear that there is a fundamental disagreement about the role of a Vice Chair — and it’s okay to have disagreements. What isn’t okay is allowing this to remain our focus when there is so much more we need to be focused on. Ultimately, I have decided to not run in this upcoming election so the party can focus on what really matters."
The young activist discovered what happens when you challenge the Democrat machine.
