John Kerry just showed the world why he’s out hawking impossible climate initiatives to world leaders while Joe Biden is taking it easy in the Oval Office.
As a failed former Presidential hopeful, Kerry hasn’t exactly had a track record of wowing his listeners with exceptional verbal prowess — and he certainly wasn’t able to hoodwink Americans into electing him.
He’s been known for some of the most illogical verbal blunders in the past, like the time he was asked how his Catholic faith would impact his approach to governing if he were elected as president.
He responded by saying, “I was an altar boy.”
No elaboration — that was it.
Ironically, his latest blunder doesn’t involve one of his signature illogical gaffes.
Instead, he’s in all kinds of trouble for telling the truth.
Underneath his bumbling grandpa façade, Joe Biden is one of the most radical leftists on the planet.
He’s sold on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal.
And he’s doing everything he can to push that agenda even during the worst energy crisis America has faced since the disastrous Carter Administration.
In fact, one of the first things he did when he got in office was freeze new drilling permits on federal land, where the federal government owns a huge proportion of the valuable energy producing land in the United States.
Now with skyrocketing gas prices becoming a massive political liability, he decided to try a dirty sleight of hand trick.
In an election year stunt — and forced by a federal court ruling — Biden made a move to allow more drilling leases of federal land.
But there’s a catch — at the same time, he increased the fees to get a drilling permit and reduced the land available for extraction.
That plus crippling new environmental regulations should be enough to keep domestic energy production from increasing as most of the new leases will go unused.
Biden had hoped that would remain an insider secret.
But when John Kerry made a recent appearance on MSNBC, he spilled the beans.
Kerry told the network that Biden “knows that many of these leases that have been granted are simply not going to be drilled in.”
Those new leases were the cornerstone of a talking point to allow Democrats to claim they aren’t waging a war on American energy.
But the truth is that Democrats are continuing to push their radical leftist agenda no matter how much they hurt average Americans in the process.
In his MSNBC interview Kerry explained the big picture of what’s going on with the future of domestic energy.
“Is there some additional pumping? Yes, there is,” Kerry said.
“So, I don’t think — as long as the additional efforts to produce gas are, in fact, temporary, as long as they are geared to be able to deal with the need for economic stability in order to be able to make the transitions that we need,” he said.
If the current situation is the Democrats’ idea of a “temporary” reprieve from oppressive energy policy we’re in a whole lot of trouble.
No doubt, it’s only a matter of time before they push us into a “transition” period with the Biden regime forcing “green energy” on Americans.
“So, I look at this as a temporary measure to try to relieve the price pressure, which is essential to keeping the population committed to moving in these directions, and I think it’s understandable,” he said.
It sounds more like a diabolical scheme to implement draconian population control rather than merely “keeping the population committed.”
The new federal leases are simply the latest in a series of efforts the Biden Administration is putting forth to convince Americans there’s nothing he can do to make life less miserable.
It’s obvious Joe Biden and Friends are never going to let a crisis go to waste.
They’re using high gas prices as an excuse to double down on pushing green energy like electric cars.
Regime officials have made tone deaf pitches for expensive electric cars while Americans are being crushed by high gas prices.
The truth is they couldn’t care less about the well being of the country as long as they can push through their elitist political fantasies.
