While the radical Left loses their minds about the potential of not being able to kill babies, regular people are more concerned about the unprecedented security breach in the United States Supreme Court.
In a recent interview with Megyn Kelly, former U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr outlined exactly how to handle the leak.
But it appears President Joe Biden is interested in what the man he called “one of the best” AG’s in American history has to say.
Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States John Roberts has called for an investigation by the Marshal of the Court in the unprecedented leak of a draft ruling that appears to indicate the high court is ready to overturn the controversial Roe v. Wade ruling from 1973 – and let each individual state decide how it wants to handle the abortion issue.
“This was a singular and egregious breach of that trust that is an affront to the Court and the community of public servants who work here,” Justice Roberts said. “I have directed the Marshal of the Court to launch an investigation into the source of the leak.”
But former Attorney General under Presidents Donald Trump and George Herbert Walker Bush, Bill Barr’s legal opinion is that a more substantial inquiry is warranted.
“The Chief (Justice John Roberts) would have had the option – and perhaps still will – to appoint a special council in the classical criminal sense,” Barr said in an interview on Megyn Kelly’s podcast. “He can bring in a former U.S. attorney or someone with a criminal law background. I’m sure he would get the support he needed from the FBI or any other law enforcement agency.”
However, to get to the truth, Barr believes there is another important step that needs to be taken.
“I think they may need a grand jury to do that, which would mean a criminal case,” Barr said. “To compel the truth.”
Kelly said the leaker performed an unethical act and should be disbarred, but wasn’t sure if a crime was committed.
However, Barr believes there was.
“It could be obstructing the administration of justice, the due process of justice,” Barr said. “Obstruction means you’re attempting to influence through some kind of wrongdoing. I don’t think it’s a stretch.”
The former United States Attorney General added that if he were running the investigation, he would have to double check all the statutes, but he believes going after the leaker criminals for obstruction is the way to go.
Current President Joe Biden once called Barr “one of the best” Attorney Generals in the history of the United States – so it would stand to reason Biden would take Barr’s recommendations under serious consideration.
NBC News is reporting the Biden administration has no plans to investigate the origins of the SCOTUS leak.
“Administration officials said the Justice Department’s view, at this early stage, is that the leak did not constitute a federal crime,” NBC News reported. “Accordingly, neither the FBI nor other federal law enforcement organizations are involved in any investigation, the officials said.”
Barr says that’s a big mistake.
“I think they should spare no effort to get to the bottom of what happened,” Barr said. “Once you expose the Court to this kind of popular pressure and sort of potential mob psychology, it’ll divert them from reaching a principled decision based on the merits. We go to a lot of trouble in our system to insulate the court so that they can do what they think is just under the law and, you know, this means that we’re going to have sort of this street justice played out in front of the Supreme Court when they’re considering controversial cases.”
The leaked SCOTUS ruling draft marks the first such breach of high court security and trust in the entire modern history of America.
