The writing has been on the wall for Joe Biden and his Presidency for months now.
But on Thursday he got a piece of news that could be the final nail in the coffin of his Presidency.
But rather than face the truth, his administration is doing everything it can to bully Americans into dropping one word from their vocabulary.
On Thursday morning the Wall Street Journal ran an article headlined: “US Economy Shrank Last Quarter.”
That bland and uninspiring article title represented a significant partial win for Joe Biden and Democrat propagandists.
Under Joe Biden’s leadership America has sunk into a nasty recession, but Democrats can’t afford that ugly reality ahead of November’s Midterm elections.
The economy already shrank by 1.6% in the first quarter of this year — and it was obvious weeks in advance that the second quarter wouldn’t be much better.
Rather than find constructive ways to turn the country around, Biden and his handlers decided to launch a massive campaign to redefine the meaning of recession.
“What is a recession?,” an article on the Biden White House’s website read. “While some maintain that two consecutive quarters of falling real GDP constitute a recession, that is neither the official definition nor the way economists evaluate the state of the business cycle. Instead, both official determinations of recessions and economists’ assessment of economic activity are based on a holistic look at the data — including the labor market, consumer and business spending, industrial production, and incomes.”
“Based on these data, it is unlikely that the decline in GDP in the first quarter of this year — even if followed by another GDP decline in the second quarter — indicates a recession,” the administration claimed.
Of course, that economic “fact” is being dished out by an administration which appointed a Supreme Court Justice who can’t tell you what a woman is because she’s “not a biologist.”
Considering how outlandish their approach is, the administration has been remarkably successful.
When the results came in showing the economy shrank by 0.9% in the second quarter, Biden’s 1984 inspired propaganda campaign was so hammered into the press’ minds that even the relatively conservative Wall Street Journal was careful to hedge its reporting, noting that, “The U.S. economy shrank for a second quarter in a row — a common definition of recession — as businesses trimmed their inventories, the housing market buckled under rising interest rates, and high inflation took steam out of consumer spending.”
Everyone from White House Economic Advisor Jared Berstein to United States Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen have been making the news show rounds to blatantly lie about what the dismal numbers mean.
Apparently, their integrity isn’t worth as much as protecting Joe Biden’s political career from the dreaded “R” word.
But no matter what they call it, Americans will know a recession when it hits their wallet.
