As is often the case the 2022 Midterm election cycle saw Democrats get away with pushing numerous talking points that simply weren’t based on reality.
The fact that the corporate-controlled media bent over backwards to provide cover for said lies certainly didn’t help matters.
But now Joe Biden has egg on his face after his own regime blew up this major Democrat talking point.
Since the moment President Joe Biden stepped foot in the White House, gas prices have skyrocketed nationwide.
On day one of his Presidency, Biden immediately began his war on American energy production, handcuffing oil and gas companies by implementing policies in the name of outright completely eliminating the fossil fuel industry, like freezing drilling permits on federal land.
As expected, though, rather than owning the fact that he was following through on his campaign promise to eliminate fossil fuels, thus skyrocketing gas prices, President Biden and his regime blamed literally everyone and everything else they could possibly think of.
Democrats and their media allies laughably claimed their anti-American energy production policies had no impact on gas prices when they hit all-time highs nationwide, and instead claimed it was a combination of former President Donald Trump’s pro-American energy policies, the COVID lockdowns they implemented but pretended they had nothing to do with, and Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.
In fact, throughout the 2022 Midterm election cycle, Biden and his Democrat lackeys even blamed American energy companies, repeatedly claiming they were “sitting on nearly 9,000 unused but approved” drilling permits.
President Biden himself repeated that lie more than 20 times throughout last year, but now, that left-wing talking point has been destroyed by Biden’s own regime.
Obviously hoping to keep the matter under the radar, the Biden Bureau of Land Management has now quietly “revised” the number of unused drilling permits from the 9,000 the President, Democrats, and the lapdog media previously claimed, to just 6,700.
In possibly the most convenient timing ever – coming in just in time for the start of the 2024 election cycle – the Bureau claimed they were forced to make the change in order to “account for a reporting discrepancy resulting from a transition to a new database in mid-2020.”
But the idea that a supposed “new database” magically corrected the record after more than a year of the Biden regime repeating the same provable lie just in time for 2024 is raising red flags for many.
Western Energy Alliance president Kathleen Sgamma recently explained to Fox News that the Biden regime’s past 9,000 unused permit lie was nothing more than an attempt to convince the American people to blame American oil companies rather than the regime for all-time high gas prices.
“For nearly a year, the White House has been trying to shift blame for hindering oil and natural gas development on federal lands,” Sgamma explained. “They use the claim about 9,000 permits to beat up the industry and deflect for their failure to efficiently process permits. Now it turns out the numbers were off by thousands.”
As Sgamma points out, the primary driving force behind unused drilling permits were the Biden regime’s policy changes that made it nearly impossible for permits to be approved.
Since President Biden was sworn into office, the amount of red tape and hoops the regime has forced energy companies through has made it nearly impossible for them to spend the millions upon millions of dollars just for the right to spend tens of millions more on drilling, then tens of millions more on refining the oil, then tens of millions more on distributing it, and on and on the list goes.
Make no mistake about it, this is what Joe Biden and Democrats have been openly promising they would do for years.
They’ve gone all-in on their radical environmental agenda, and as a result, they will not stop until fossil fuels are eliminated, no matter how high gas prices go – or whether or not it ultimately leaves America without enough energy to sustain civilization as the world knows it.
With such uncertainty and outright hostility towards American energy production, oil and gas companies simply cannot make the type of long-term investments needed to keep up with America’s energy demands so long as Democrats are hellbent on eliminating fossil fuels.
“The reality is this administration has done everything possible to make it more difficult to produce oil and natural gas on federal lands,” Sgamma added. “Studies show the United States would be producing 2-3 million more barrels per day, thereby lowering prices for consumers, if it weren’t for these bad policies.”
Once again, one of the Biden regime’s top talking points has been exposed as a massive lie.
And there’s no doubt Joe Biden and Democrats are now scrambling to invent a new excuse for gas prices still being over $1.00 higher per gallon than when Donald Trump was in office.
