Joe Biden was caught off guard when yet another of his horrible ideas failed dramatically.
His administration thought taxpayer money would solve their problems.
But Biden just found out Texas ranchers aren’t pushovers.
Joe Biden has spent his career dreaming up ways to use taxpayer money to attempt buying people off.
That happens even more often when things aren’t going his way.
The career politician has made a good living running this scam on the American people.
And, as new revelations show, it works in foreign governments as well.
The Bidens know many people can be bought, especially if the price is right.
But it turns out not everybody is willing to compromise their principles to take Joe’s ill-gained dollars—especially not in the Lonestar state when it involves people’s livelihoods and family heritage.
The Washington Examiner broke the news of yet another initiative failure of the Biden Administration.
The Examiner reported Texas ranchers are turning their back on Biden’s monetary handouts.
Instead of taking cash to help cover damage caused by illegal immigrants, they’re calling on Biden to grow a backbone and do his job.
Rather than enforcing the law, Biden is practically working for those who don’t respect our laws by unofficially opening the border and putting Border Patrol agents in charge of shuttling illegal aliens from the border to cities all over America—and in some cases even flying them to whatever parts of the country they want them to go.
Now his Department of Agriculture is offering farmers the chance to make claims for damage to fencing, livestock loss, and destroyed crops caused by the millions of illegal immigrants flowing through the southern border.
That fix is something like slapping a Band-Aid over a severed limb and calling it good.
And many Texas ranchers refuse to fall for such a lame—and completely ineffective—solution.
“It looks good on paper. It looks good in the media,” rancher John Paul Schuster told The Examiner. “But in reality, it’s not servicing us right now.”
Another Rancher—a professional outfitter who hosts and guides hunters on his 20,000-acre ranch—can read between the lines.
“I don’t have high hopes we’re going to get money or that it’s going to work because of the way they’ve worded it,” Page Day said. “I almost want to say it’s a political stunt by the government to say, ‘Look, we are helping the ranchers?’”
Day says he’s spent around $60,000 on fence repairs alone.
Another rancher, Billy Whaley, pointed out that ranchers are already running circles around government agents.
“It’s probably going to be more trouble than it’s worth [to apply] because nothing is simple with the government,” Whaley said. “If I have to spend four or five hours filling out stuff and sending it in then have somebody come look at it, by the time they do that, we’ve already fixed another fence.”
Others like Ann Hodge says she and her husband won’t apply because they have zero interest in allowing bureaucrats to gain control over their operation.
“We don’t want anything from the government. There’s going to be strings attached,” she said. “You never know when they’re going to try and say they might need that money back now and have the power to take it away from us.”
As usual, Biden and his handlers are missing the point.
His destructive policies aren’t merely knocking down a fence—they’re shattering the peace and security of entire communities and creating no end to the suffering for humans and animals.
Even junk left behind from illegal aliens trespassing on ranch land is taking a toll on cattle herds.
“Those cattle eat it, and because of their digestive system and the way it’s set up, they end up getting what we call hardware disease. They can’t process their diet anymore, so they get skinny and eventually die,” Schuster said.
It’s also bringing danger to the doorsteps of ranchers’ homes.
“DPS called me and said foot chase headed towards your house,” Schuster wrote in an email to The Examiner last week. “So, we turned off all the TVs and one light wife had on in bedroom. She went to bed — I am sitting still in recliner with dog and pistol by my side.”
Well Joe, what’s it going to take to make people forget nights like that?
