The media said criticism of Joe Biden was really “cheering” for “Brandon.”
Well, one state may have more “let’s go Brandon” fans than anywhere and it’s about to become even more of a thorn in the Biden Administration’s side.
And Joe Biden will flip out when he hears about this state’s plan for Brandon.
Floridians love to chant “Let’s Go Brandon.”
Like the second part in the iTunes chart-topping “Let’s Go Brandon” songs, GOP lawmakers in Florida intend to take it to the next level by completely blocking Biden’s favorite mandate.
Their bold plan includes kicking one of the most annoying federal agencies out of the state.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis already promised to fight Biden’s COVID-19 vaccination mandate in court, but this week he announced that he’s calling the legislature back for a special session to push back through creating additional laws.
In an announcement, DeSantis said he’s calling the session, “To add protections for people in the state of Florida, and that’s something that cannot wait until the regular legislative session next year, it needs to happen soon,” he added, “We want to make sure that individuals in Florida have their livelihoods and their jobs protected.”
Senate President Wilton Simpson and Florida House Speaker Chris Sprowls hinted at the scope of their plans in a statement they issued, “In the coming days, we will review the Governor’s specific proposals as well as discuss our own ideas for legislative action, including whether now is the time for Florida to withdraw from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and establish our own state program.”
The statement added, “We believe that by doing so, Florida will have the ability to alleviate onerous federal regulations placed on employers and employees.”
So far, we have no idea how they’ll pull it off, but it’s sure to be fascinating to watch.
Of course, Democrats are already complaining bitterly with Rep. Ramon Alexander (D-Tallahassee) telling POLITICO, “We need to get out of cuckoo land and get back to reality.”
But state surgeon general nominee Joseph Ladapo said what is ridiculous is being told it’s foolish to question the safety of vaccinations when the people pushing them don’t even have safety data at this point.
Florida is one of a few states former Ohio Congressman Jim Renacci calls “sanctuary states for freedom.”
Florida has spent years positioning itself as a lower-tax and business friendly alternative to other states—especially New York and New Jersey.
In May, Florida’s CFO, Jimmy Patronis, told Fox News around 900 people move to the state every day.
That’s what the “Let’s Go Brandon/F*ck Joe Biden” sentiment sweeping the nation really looks like in action.
Maybe Florida’s next move to stick it to Joe Biden will be changing the state nickname.
