Just nine months into Joe Biden’s Presidency, polls began to show that the majority of Democrat voters wanted almost anyone other than him to run for President in 2024.
But Republicans’ utter failure to reclaim both houses of Congress in November’s Midterms gave President Biden a new lease on life.
Suddenly, all the self-proclaimed “journalists” speculating about whether leftists, like California Governor Gavin Newsom, would challenge Biden seemed to stop overnight, leaving Biden to believe he had put the questions over whether or not he was Democrats’ best 2024 option to bed.
That all changed with the revelation that President Joe Biden was in possession of a trove of classified documents that he stashed all over the country, as it absolutely destroyed Democrats’ plans to throw former President Donald Trump in jail for exactly the same issue.
And the Biden regime only made matters worse for itself by attempting to cover up the scandal for months – a fact that has been confirmed by multiple legacy media outlets, including The New York Times.
Now, top Democrats are beginning to speak out against the embattled Democrat President.
In a rare move to criticize any Democrat, much less Biden, Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) went on CNN’s State of the Union, and proceeded to rip the President for his “unacceptable” handling of classified documents.
“There’s a standard we follow when it comes to Members of Congress and classified information,” Durbin said. “The door to my office is closed. The person that presents the document to me takes it out of a locked briefcase, hands it to me and watches as I read it. When I finish reading it, he takes it back, puts it in the briefcase and leaves the scene. That’s how carefully we review these documents. To think that any of them ended up in boxes in storage one place or the other is just unacceptable.”
On top of that swipe, Senator Durbin also admitted that the entire ordeal had diminished President Biden’s “stature,” and crushed Democrats’ hopes to bring Trump down for the same offense.
“Let’s be honest about it,” Durbin added. “When the information is found, it diminishes the stature of any person who is in possession of it. Because it’s not supposed to happen. Whether it was the fault of a staffer or attorney, it makes no difference. The elected official bears ultimate responsibility.”
Of all the Democrats in Washington, D.C. speaking out against Joe Biden, Dick Durbin’s rebuke may have the biggest impact.
After all, Senator Durbin is the second most powerful Democrat in the Senate, and he’s proven to be one of the most loyal Democrats in the ruling class establishment, making it extraordinarily rare for him to make such comments against a fellow ruling class Democrat.
But Democrats who’ve been in the politics game as long as Durbin can see the writing on the wall.
They know that President Biden is extremely unpopular with both Republicans and Democrats throughout the country, and that this may be their best and only chance to replace him ahead of 2024.
Put simply, Democrats are never going to let a good crisis go to waste – even one that would see them give an incumbent Democrat President the boot.
And if Dick Durbin’s rebuke of Joe Biden is any indication, they’re already seizing the moment.
