House Republicans made a lot of promises on their way to taking back the majority.
But some of their most important promises have revolved around exposing the truth about the Biden regime’s numerous unconstitutional schemes.
And now Joe Biden is scrambling for lifelines after Kevin McCarthy made one statement about impeachment.
Of all the unconstitutional schemes the Biden regime has implemented over the past two years, none have cost more lives and inflicted more direct harm on the nation than Biden’s open borders agenda.
Since President Joe Biden took office, more than six million illegal aliens – roughly the same as the populations of states like Missouri and Maryland – have been apprehended crossing the border illegally, and that’s just the illegal aliens who were actually caught.
Additionally, Biden’s open borders scheme has also allowed an unprecedented amount of deadly drugs, like fentanyl, to flood into America, sending drug overdose deaths skyrocketing.
Now, it appears as though the Biden regime will finally be held accountable for the damage the Biden border crisis has caused.
While speaking to reporters at the U.S. Capitol recently, Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) announced that he had approved a Congressional investigation into Biden Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, the Biden lackey who has spearheaded the regime’s open borders agenda.
And as an added cherry on top, Speaker McCarthy even revealed that the investigation could very well lead to Secretary Mayorkas’ impeachment.
“Should that person stay in their job?” McCarthy began. “Well, I raised the issue that they shouldn’t. The thing that we can do is we can investigate, and then that investigation could lead to an impeachment inquiry.”
Of course, McCarthy isn’t the only top Republican looking to hold Mayorkas and the Biden regime accountable.
According to Congressman James Comer (R-KY), “If anybody is a prime candidate for impeachment in this town, it’s Mayorkas.”
Congressman Pat Fallon (R-TX), who has already introduced articles of impeachment against the Homeland Security Secretary, also told CNN recently that Mayorkas would have every opportunity to defend the Biden regime’s open borders agenda and the humanitarian crisis it’s caused at the border.
“It is important, it is an emergency, you need to break the glass, you really do need to take it up, and then we’re going to have an additional investigation,” Fallon said. “While that’s why I filed the articles, you can always just sit on them and not do anything with them. That starts the ball rolling, we’re going to give Mayorkas the opportunity to defend himself and his department.”
On the other hand, some RINOs in the GOP establishment are under the impression that a Homeland Security Secretary who has refused to enforce the nation’s laws and cost countless Americans lives — with more on the way — isn’t a big deal at all.
In fact, Congressman Dusty Johnson (R-SD) argued that such reckless disregard for the well-being and security of the American people is somehow not an impeachable offense.
“Clearly, the management of the southern border has been incompetent,” Johnson told CNN. “That is not the threshold in the Constitution for impeachment – it’s high crimes and misdemeanors. I would want to think about the legal standard the Constitution has set out – and whether or not that’s been met.”
Republicans have the best opportunity they’ve ever had to expose Democrats’ disastrous, unconstitutional schemes for the entire world to see, but some would rather cower from the moment.
Ultimately though, this is on Speaker McCarthy.
He promised that with him as Speaker, Republicans would fight for the American people and hold the Biden regime accountable, and this is his chance to prove the fears of conservatives who held out on supporting him during the Speaker’s election were misplaced.
Now, it’s put up or shut up time for Kevin McCarthy.
