House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan is doggedly leading the effort to get the GOP controlled House to move on the Joe Biden impeachment inquiry.
Now Republicans are finally set to act on the very credible allegations of corruption against Joe Biden.
When Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) revealed the existence of a whistleblower last year, he set off a political earthquake.
The whistleblower came forward with information about the existence of a June 2020 FBI form FD-1023 that outlined allegations from a highly credible confidential informant that the founder of Burisma paid then-Vice President Joe Biden a $5 million bribe in exchange for helping to convince the Ukrainian government to fire a prosecutor investigating Burisma for corruption.
And that story took another twist as Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) wrote a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray asking for information about another FBI form FD-1023 from March 2017 which contained allegations from this same informant that multiple foreign interests paid the Biden family millions of dollars.
“Pursuant to the House’s impeachment inquiry into President Biden, as well as the Committee’s Constitutional oversight authority over the Department of Justice, we write to request that you produce an FBI FD-1023 form (‘FD-1023’) dated March 1, 2017, concerning a confidential human source (CHS) report about payments made to the Biden family from foreign entities,” Jordan stated.
“The requested FD-1023 is referenced in a second FD-1023 from June 2020 detailing bribery allegations that involve President Biden and his son, Hunter. The Committee requires this document to evaluate whether sufficient grounds exist to consider drafting articles of impeachment,” Jordan continued.
The informant involved was paid more than $100,000 by the FBI over many years, proving the bureau found the information reliable and useful.
Jordan said the 2017 FD-1023 came to his committee’s attention after the testimony of Scott Brady, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania, whom former Attorney General Bill Barr tasked with vetting any Ukraine-Biden family-related leads.
“Prior to Mr. Brady’s engagement on the 2017 FD-1023, the FBI knew that it had a CHS that had information related to Hunter Biden’s work on Burisma’s Board of Directors, but it was not until U.S. Attorney Brady and his team found this link that the FBI reached out to the CHS for additional information,” Jordan wrote.
“Based on the information in the 2020 FD-1023 and Mr. Brady’s testimony on the CHS’s credibility, it is crucial for the Committee to obtain the original 2017 FD-1023. Because the 2020 FD-1023 includes such serious allegations of bribery and the involvement of President Biden in Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings and because material in the 2017 FD-1023 led to the development of the 2020 FD-1023, the Committee needs access [to] the 2017 FD-1023,” Jordan’s letter concluded.
None of Joe Biden’s defenders have ever provided a legitimate explanation as to why then-Vice President Biden appeared on camera in 2018 and bragged about how he had pressured the President of Ukraine to fire a prosecutor who had investigated a company that paid his son millions to sit on its board of directors.
Jim Jordan is convinced the FBI is purposefully sitting on the evidence that will fill in all those gaps.
