Better hold onto your wallet, Joe Biden is about to make life even more expensive.
Almost every sector is struggling with high prices and scarce supply.
Now one dumb rule is already in place to break our supply chain January 22.
Biden’s Administration and Canada’s wildly leftist-socialist government are apparently working together to make sure they push our supply chain past its breaking point for no good reason.
Soon both countries will refuse to let truckers cross the border if they aren’t fully vaccinated for COVID.
Canadian truckers short even one possible booster shot can’t return home.
Quite a few are likely stuck in the US since they were told that Canada was dropping the requirement for citizens to be vaccinated for re-entry.
Regulators let them believe that for more than 24 hours before announcing that they would shut down the border to unvaccinated truckers on January 15 as originally planned.
Truckers may be able to quarantine for 14 days to get through, but that will create a logistics nightmare.
The United States’ rule will take effect January 22.
Ironically, researchers in Canada have found that people who are vaccinated are more likely to come down sick with the Omicron variant than the unvaccinated.
But leaders of both countries are stubbornly sticking to their rules no matter the price we all end up paying.
About 80% of the $640 billion worth of goods traded between the two countries each year is hauled on trucks.
“We believe these mandates will only serve to push drivers out of the industry or away from these routes, further straining the supply chain between the U.S. and our biggest trading partner,” Bob Costello with the American Trucking Associations (ATA) told the Wall Street Journal.
Last November the ATA warned that 37% of US truckers will leave the industry rather than give in to big government bullies.
About 10 to 15 percent of Canada’s truckers have also refused to get the jab.
This border shutdown comes in the middle of a massive blue state exodus as conservatives flee overbearing nanny states.
Many parents from blue states refuse to vaccinate their children and are now living in Airbnb rentals in red states while they hunt for permanent housing.
A border crisis with Canada may make it impossible to get lumber—which is already in short supply with specialty products such as trusses sometimes costing as much as four times more than just a couple of years ago.
Poor management of public forests and destructive policies put in place by environmentalists have left the US almost entirely dependent on Canada for lumber.
