It’s never a promising sign for a President’s party when they have to spend more time in damage control mode than touting wins in the lead up to an election.
But that’s the exact position Joe Biden and the Left are in with the 2022 Midterms right around the corner.
And his favorite excuses just evaporated before the Left’s eyes.
As far as President Joe Biden and Democrats are concerned, there is always someone else they can blame for the failures they cause.
They seemingly never run out of excuses and scapegoats, and their allies in the Fake News Media are obviously always more than happy to lend a helping hand.
And since President Biden took office, they’ve certainly taken that to new extremes, blaming everything but Biden, Democrats, and their radical agenda for the prices at the pump.
But based on the results of a new poll from Rasmussen Reports, all of those excuses are beginning to fall on deaf ears.
According to Rasmussen’s poll, just 11% of Americans have bought into the Biden administration’s claim that Russian President Vladimir Putin is solely to blame for the record-high price of gas.
Of course, that’s not too surprising of a result, though, as top Democrats, like former Obama chief strategist David Axelrod, have argued that Biden and Democrats’ strategy of blaming everyone else is a losing strategy.
“Why not…just be blunt with people? … But then now they’ve over-corrected and so for a few days he was saying, you know, everything is ‘Putin’s price hikes. Inflation is Putin’s fault.’ People don’t believe that, either,” Axelrod said. “They know that we had inflation before this. They know that gas prices were high before this. So they haven’t dialed this in quite right yet. You can’t blame everything in the economy on Putin.”
But as everyone is fully aware, blaming Vladimir Putin for issues he caused is not Joe Biden’s only strategy for deflecting blame away from himself.
And there’s no doubt his favorite target since entering office has been American oil companies, who he promised to destroy on the campaign trail, and has so far done just that.
The only problem there is, just 29% of Americans are buying into the idea that “greedy” American oil and gas companies were breaking the law and purposely jacking up their prices to make more profits, according to Rasmussen.
Outside of that obviously being illegal and a cause for the Biden administration to really target American oil production for destruction, it’s just a ridiculous notion that oil companies’ “greed” would somehow magically spiral out of control to the point where they created the biggest gas price crisis in world history just as Joe Biden entered the White House.
The American people are absolutely done with being lied to and fed excuse after excuse, and that was proven by the fact that Rasmussen’s poll revealed that of all the excuses that have been thrown out for all-time high energy prices, Americans blame Joe Biden the most.
According to the poll, 52% of Americans believe the Biden administration’s left-wing energy policies are to blame for gas prices.
Matters only get worse from there for Biden and the Left, as just 27% of Americans believe he’s done a ‘good job’ with the economy, and 57% believe he’s doing a ‘bad job.’
Joe Biden simply cannot have his cake and it too.
He wants all the praise for things he didn’t even accomplish or lift a finger on, but the minute things go wrong, he wants everyone but him to take the brunt of the criticism.
Quite frankly, it’s downright childish behavior unbecoming of the President of the United States.
But it’s what you can expect from a President who cannot seem to wrap his head around the fact that he cannot simultaneously cancel oil pipelines in the middle of construction, cancel all oil and gas exploration leases on federal land, ban fracking, and overload oil and gas companies with the most burdensome regulations in history, while also expecting gas prices to not go through the roof.
Thankfully though, voters appear to have caught on to the game Biden and the Democrats are playing, and seem perfectly content to throw them out of power in November.
The only real question that remains at this point in the 2022 Midterms is how big of a margin will Republicans win by.
