Jen Psaki recently left her role as White House Press Secretary for a position at MSNBC.
But Psaki’s replacement is already making mistakes.
And Joe Biden’s new Press Secretary instantly regretted making this one colossal blunder.
When Jen Psaki recently left for MSNBC, Joe Biden brought on Karine Jean-Pierre as his new Press Secretary.
As Press Secretary, Jean-Pierre has the role of trying to explain Joe Biden’s failures to reporters.
And it’s already not going well for her.
During her first press conference, Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy asked Jean-Pierre about Joe Biden posting on social media that the way to fight inflation is by raising taxes on corporations.
“How does raising taxes on corporations reduce inflation?” Doocy questioned.
But Jean-Pierre couldn’t even find an answer to this simple question.
“Well, you know, we have talked about… we have talked about this this past year, about making sure that the wealthiest among us are paying their fair share,” she stammered while staring into her notes.
“And that is important to do. And that is something that, you know, the President has been working on every day when we talk about inflation and lowering costs,” she continued.
“And so it’s very important that, you know, as we’re seeing costs rise, as we’re talking about how to, you know, build an America that’s safe, that’s equal for everyone and doesn’t leave anyone behind. That is an important part of that as well,” she concluded.
Unsatisfied by her “answer,” Doocy followed up by once again asking her how raising taxes on corporations would fight inflation.
And once again, Jean-Pierre responded with a strange answer.
“So, look, I think we encourage those who have done very well, right? Especially those who care about climate change to support a fairer tax code. That doesn’t change,” she blabbered.
“It doesn’t charge manufacturers, workers, cops, builders a higher percentage of their earnings that the most fortunate people in our nation and not let that stand in the way of reducing energy costs and fighting this existential problem, if you think about that as an example,” she continued.
“And to support basic collective bargaining rights as well. That’s also important,” she said.
“But look, it is, you know, not without having a fair tax code, which is what I’m talking about, then like manufacturing workers, cops,” she added.
“You know, it’s not fair for them to have to pay higher taxes than the folks who are not paying taxes at all,” she concluded.
“But what does that have to do with inflation?” a clearly confused Doocy responded.
Even though Doocy asked her a simple question, she couldn’t even come up with a coherent answer.
Of course, the questions are only going to get tougher for Jean-Pierre as Joe Biden’s problems continue to mount.
Given her disastrous first day on the job, Joe Biden is likely missing Jen Psaki a lot sooner than he ever imagined.
